2020 NFL Draft Grades – AFC North

Howdy, y’all, Chris Pinto here Lead Fantasy Football Analyst and Writer for Belly Up Sports with my series on division NFL draft grades. The historic 2020 NFL Draft had its share of head-turning trades and selections along with the commissioner’s own sense of humor, which in my mind made him a little more likable. The draft went on without a hitch to our knowledge. The organizations had wants and needs and we watched as it all unfolded. The selections are in the books and we can move forward.

Listed below I have broken down the selections per team and given my overall draft grade for each team’s draft selections. The fourth installment in my series is the AFC North, home of the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Baltimore Ravens.

Cleveland Browns (AFC North)

Cleveland Browns NFL Draft Grades

Rd. 1 (#10) – Jedrick Wills, OL, Alabama
Rd. 2 (#44) – Grant Delpit, S, LSU
Rd. 3 (#88) – Jordan Elliott, DL, Missouri
Rd. 3 (#97) – Jacob Phillips, LB, LSU
Rd. 4 (#115) – Harrison Bryant, TE, FAU
Rd. 5 (#160) – Nick Harris, OL, Washington
Rd. 6 (#187) – Donovan Peoples-Jones, WR, Michigan

The Cleveland Browns had a fine draft, they filled spots on the defense and added protection for QB Baker Mayfield. They even snagged a top-end wide receiver in Donovan Peoples-Jones from Michigan with their last pick. My overall NFL Draft Grade for the Browns is they did an amazing job planning for this season getting guys they can spot start. From a fantasy aspect, watch Peoples-Jones as he showed some great prowess in college and should be good for Dynasty Leagues.

Cleveland Browns Draft Grade – A- (90)

NFL Draft Grades: Cincinnati Bengals (AFC North)

Cincinnati Bengals NFL Draft Grades

Rd. 1 (#1) – Joe Burrow, QB, LSU
Rd. 2 (#33) – Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson
Rd. 3 (#65) – Logan Wilson, LB, Wyoming
Rd. 4 (#107) – Akeem Davis-Gaither, LB, App State
Rd. 5 (#147) – Khalid Kareem, EDGE, Notre Dame
Rd. 6 (#180) – Hakeem Adenji, OL, Kansas
Rd. 7 (#215) – Markus Bailey, LB, Purdue

The Bengals organization ranks among the highest for my NFL Draft Grades. They selected face of the franchise QB Joe Burrow and paired him with a monster in WR Tee Higgins. These two have huge potential together. The Bengals loaded their defense and the future is bright for Cincinnati. My overall NFL Draft grade is great and almost perfect. From a fantasy aspect, Burrow and Higgins should be owned in every dynasty league and both be taken by the second round. In redraft leagues, both hold value and should be able to be taken very late.

Cincinnati Bengals Draft Grade – A+ (97)

Pittsburgh Steelers (AFC North)

Pittsburgh Steelers

Rd. 2 (#49) – Chase Claypool, WR, Notre Dame
Rd. 3 (#102) – Alex Highsmith, EDGE, Charlotte
Rd. 4 (#124) – Anthony McFarland Jr., RB, Maryland
Rd. 4 (#135) – Kevin Dotson, OL, Louisiana
Rd. 6 (#198) – Antoine Brooks Jr., S, Maryland
Rd. 7 (#232) – Carlos Davis, DL, Nebraska

The Pittsburgh Steelers did not have that many selections in this year’s draft. Adding pieces all over the board and spreading out their talent, the Steelers had an okay draft class. With RB Anthony McFarland Jr. and WR Chase Claypool, the Steelers look to add some young strong depth at some weak positions for them. My overall score for my NFL Draft Grades for the Steelers is fine with what they had to work with. I just wish they had grabbed a more talked about prospect. From a fantasy aspect, both of the above mentioned should be looked at in dynasty leagues.

Pittsburgh Steelers Draft Grade – B- (81)

NFL Draft Grades: Baltimore Ravens (AFC North)

Baltimore Ravens

Rd. 1 (#28) – Patrick Queen, LB, LSU
Rd. 2 (#55) – JK Dobbins, RB, Ohio State
Rd. 3 (#71) – Justin Madubuike, DL, Texas A&M
Rd. 3 (#92) – Devin Duvernay, WR, Texas
Rd. 3 (#98) – Malik Harrison, LB, Ohio State
Rd. 3 (#106) – Tyre Phillips, OL, Mississippi State
Rd. 4 (#143) – Ben Bredeson, OL, Michigan
Rd. 5 (#170) – Broderick Washington, DL, Texas Tech
Rd. 6 (#201) – James Proche, WR, SMU
Rd. 7 (#219) – Geno Stone, S, Iowa

The Baltimore Ravens crushed it in this year’s draft. The Super Bowl contenders made their case stronger adding some shut down defensive players and superstar talent all over the offensive side. This entry draft class is top marks and we can talk about them all. My overall NFL Draft Grade is as perfect as you can get. From a fantasy aspect, RB J.K. Dobbins, WR Devin Duvernay, and WR James Proche should be owned in all dynasty leagues and Dobbins and Duvernay should be owned in all redraft leagues.

Baltimore Ravens Draft Grade – A+ (99)
