2022 Dynasty Sell Highs

The 2022 fantasy season is over and so is the NFL regular season. Things will change throughout this offseason and beyond, so here are some 2022 dynasty sell highs to consider. I will pick one from each position.

Tua Tagovailoa

The young Miami signal-caller hasn’t proven himself to be an outstanding fantasy QB until this season. He has had big flashes this year though, however, I still do not see him as a top-10 QB. Firstly, I think his performance has been hugely propped up by having arguably the best WR duo in the league. I have seen quite a few inaccurate balls become completions because his WRs were either wide open anyway or because they quickly adjusted and made up for their passer’s errant throw. Another large concern is his health. Tua has had issues staying healthy in general throughout his entire NFL career. But now, with the need to add significant CTE concerns, there are worries about more missed time and possibly even early retirement. I would pivot off of him for Murray, Watson, or Prescott if possible.

Tony Pollard

Pollard has surprised everyone with how well he has done. Many expect Zeke to leave this offseason and that Pollard will take over. However, Zeke is the one who still has a contract with the Cowboys while Tony will be a UFA. Pollard himself also admitted he isn’t built to be a bell cow RB. So without a bell cow load, if he leaves one of the NFL’s most efficient offences, it’s highly unlikely he repeats as an RB1. He will also be 26 this upcoming season. So despite being relatively new to being fantasy-relevant, he’s not a young back.

Christian Watson

Watson burst onto the scene in week 10. However, that was based on getting 7 touchdowns in 4 weeks. Since then, he hasn’t had any touchdowns and hasn’t been as exciting because of it. Since week 10, he has had a decent, but not great, number of targets, but a very low catch percentage that’s below 60%. It is very conceivable that the Packers will have more target competition and a QB downgrade next year and I would sell him based on that explosive four-week stretch that lives in peoples’ minds. I would be willing to trade him for a more

Dalton Schultz

His value largely comes from being on one of the best offences in the NFL, with a strong enough Offensive line to not need him to block as much. Dalton Schultz was franchise tagged and it seems likely he will look for a bigger payday elsewhere if he is not tagged again. I highly doubt he lands anywhere that will give him the same amount of targets he has received in Dallas.

Wrap-Up

Based on how I am seeing these players valued, I would shop these names as 2022 dynasty sell highs as I don’t project them to maintain that value in 2023.
