Derrick Henry is a BEAST, but can he continue to be trusted? This is The Mad Titan here, and I am here to help you make your decisions about this Titan. Henry is not your normal running back and he is an absolute physical specimen with the power to truck even the most stout of linebackers. He will run away from them with shocking speed, but also make them fly through the air. Let’s take a look and see if he is worth keeping on your team or drafting.
Henry’s Consistency
At 6’3″ and 239 pounds Derrick Henry aka “Tractorcito” aka “King Henry” is just that, a little tractor and the unquestioned King every December. He really only compares to two previous running backs in the NFL, one is Jerome “The Bus” Bettis, and the other is Corey Dillon. All other running backs pale in comparison of physicality and ferocious style of play, at least for now. Both Dillon and Bus had many years as an RB1. Dillon played for 10 seasons and Bus played for 13 years, and as bigger backs in the league, it’s easy to see why. Henry is absolutely jacked. I do believe he is still in the adolescence of his reign. I’m not in the least bit worried about Derrick Henry as a workhorse back considering his physique and production.
FIRST 5 YEARS
PLAYER | GAMES | TOUCHES | YARDS | TDS |
JEROME BETTIS | 68 | 1,491 | 6,187 | 31 |
DERRICK HENRY | 47 | 1,182 | 5,860 | 55 |
COREY DILLON | 68 | 1,413 | 6,209 | 36 |
Derrick Henry Is Staying
Every year, The KING seems to get more angry and more productive as the days grow colder and the postseason draws near. With some new acquisitions this off-season and his workouts being so intense, I have no doubt in him being a top-tier RB for years to come. No matter what league you are in, Henry should be one of the first five to six running backs off of the board and a consensus top-eight pick. Henry is not going to slow down anytime soon, and I wouldn’t be doing my job as the Mad Titan if I didn’t say that he will play another six years in the league. I wouldn’t shy away from him at all. Trust in the KING and his faithful shall be rewarded. Long may he reign.
