Let’s go, it’s time to put up or shut up, are you ready? Well even if you are not Belly Up has your back with our starts and sits of the week. This is it guys, you got to bring out the big guns, start your studs double check your rosters, make game-time decisions. This week has been up and down with all the COVID-IR news, so decisions are going to be tough. The best thing we can do is monitor the news and keep up with our rosters. I tried this week to get my article out at the last possible moment to avoid any surprise IR players making an appearance on the list. I hope Week 15 is good for you guys and I hope you find this list helpful for your major decisions on Sunday. Let’s go get some hardware.
Quarterback
Starts
Justin Fields vs Minnesota Vikings

— PFF Fantasy Football (@PFF_Fantasy) December 13, 2021
Fields was helped out last week by a couple of big burst plays by Damiere Byrd and Jakeem Grant. What Fields did well last week was creating plays with his feet, rushing for 74 yards on nine carries. This week is a juicy matchup against a Vikings team that has been abysmal as of late against opposing quarterbacks. Allowing three top-10 performances in the past five games, while giving up an average of 19.1 fantasy points/game, the fourth-most in the league. Look for Fields to put up QB1 numbers in this contest.
Ben Roethlisberger vs Tennessee Titans
Big Ben has looked good in the second halves of the past two games, throwing five touchdowns and one interception. I don’t know if he can keep it up for the rest of the season, but I think he can make the most of his opportunity this week against the Titans. The Titans’ secondary got a boost of confidence last week going against the Jaguars and picking off Trevor Lawrence four times. Outside of that performance, the Titans’ secondary has been the weak link of the defense. Look for Ben to exploit this team deep and put up solid QB2 numbers in this game.
Sits
Mike Glennon vs Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are coming off a similar as their Week 14 against the Washington Football Team. In that game, the defense made Taylor Heinicke’s life miserable, and was able to sack the quarterback five times, forced three fumbles, and picked off one pass. Even though Glennon put up, three touchdowns last week, I’m not expecting him to be a QB2 this week.
Teddy Bridgewater vs Cincinnati Bengals
Teddy B has been limited since the emergence of Javonte Williams. The Broncos have just decided to run the ball and that has hurt Bridgewater’s streaming value. Bridgewater has scored 20 fantasy points in only four games this year. It’s hard to believe that Bridgewater has been so inconsistent with the weapons around him, but he just hasn’t found his groove. The Bengals have also been a strong squad against the quarterback position, allowing the 10th fewest fantasy points/game (17.2), while tallying the second-most sacks (37) and giving up the fifth-fewest TDs (17). Don’t stream Bridgewater this week.
Running Back
Starts
James Robinson vs Houston Texans

— Ruairi S (@Ruairi_S) December 16, 2021
We are finally going to get to see what this offense can be without the Urban Meyer-sized problem lingering anymore. Who better to match them up with than the Houston Texans, a team that has allowed the most rushing yards (1,676) and the third most TDs (15). If there’s ever a game to start Robinson this year, it’s week one of your playoffs. Look for Robinson to put on his best Rashaad Penny impression and be an RB2 with RB1 potential.
D’Onta Foreman vs Pittsburgh Steelers
Foreman has a chance this week to continue to solidify himself as the Titans’ number one back. Foreman is coming off a decent performance against the Jaguars and will get a chance to capitalize on another weak matchup in Pittsburgh. Last week Dalvin Cook ran wild all over the Steelers to the tune of 205 yards and two touchdowns. I don’t expect Foreman to be Cook in this game, but he has received 9 red zone touches in the past two games. I do think he’ll have plenty of opportunities to score in this game and make an RB2 impact.
Sits
Devonta Freeman vs Green Bay Packers
The Packers have allowed the seventh-fewest yards (960) and the fifth-fewest TDs (8) to opposing running backs. Freeman has been pretty consistent this year and has averaged 54 yards on the ground in the past four games and has had his big games against weaker defenses like the Steelers and Bears. This game has the makings of either a one-sided slacking by the Packers or a closely contested game. I think game away from the Ravens early and thus Freeman, becomes a non-factor.
Rashaad Penny vs LA Rams

— PFF Fantasy Football (@PFF_Fantasy) December 12, 2021
Penny is coming off the game of his career against the worst defense against the run. Now he gets a significantly better defense that’s coming off an inspiring win against the Cardinals. The Rams only relinquished 31 rushing yards to James Conner last week and they’ll look to test Penny in this game. I don’t think Penny has sustainable value as an RB2 and will be a matchup-dependent option. That being said I don’t like the matchup this week against the Rams.
Wide Receiver
Starts
Amon-Ra St. Brown vs Arizona Cardinals
Jared Goff to Amon-Ra St. Brown for the #Lions win 🔥
— NFL Stats (@NFL_Stats) December 5, 2021
pic.twitter.com/mHY1Q3sKOK
St. Brown has been showing out these past couple of weeks, tallying 22 targets in the past two games. In that span, St. Brown has seen three red-zone targets and has delivered in fantasy with 41 points in the last two games. St. Brown has benefitted from not having D’Andre Swift and TJ Hockenson, becoming the most reliable target on the Lions’ offense. The Cardinals have been keeping receiving yards in check this year, but have allowed the most TDs (17) to opposing wideouts. I expect St. Brown produce at a WR3/flex level in this game with the potential to put up WR2 numbers.
Brandin Cooks vs Jacksonville Jaguars
Cooks came back to life last week with Davis Mills at the QB position for the Texans. Going for eight catches and 101 yards against the Seahawks. Now he gets the Jaguars, and his team doesn’t have a strong run game. This should open up for another double-digit target game for Cooks this week. I look for Cooks to be a very solid WR2 this week with some WR1 upside if he scores.
Sits
Christian Kirk vs Detroit Lions
I like Kirk’s potential with DeAndre Hopkins on IR, but this week’s gameplan for the Cardinals could very easily be run game-centric. Kirk has been up and down the past couple of weeks, he’s had an 86 yard game as well as a four-yard game. So consistency has been a problem for the slot receiver. There’s a chance Kirk gets the workload in this one, but I’m more or less banking on AJ Green coming out on top in the receiving game. Let Kirk sit in this one.
Jamison Crowder vs Miami Dolphins
Crowder’s production is going to be based on his role in this offense, last week he was spending most of his time on the perimeter rather than the slot. The Jets are struggling to find playmakers in this offense, and when they are miss using Crowder it makes it that much harder to trust him. Throw in the fact that they are playing one of the hottest secondaries in the game and that’s enough for me to bench him in this game.
Tight Ends
Starts
Mike Gesicki vs New York Jets
Gesicki is coming off a Week 13 game in which he got targeted 11 times, reeling in 7 catches for 46 yards. This game is a juicy one for Gesicki as the Dolphins will be without Jaylen Waddle and their running back room has been on the COVID-IR list for almost two weeks. This should open up Gesicki for a heavy workload this week. The Jets have also been weak against the tight end position, allowing the seventh-most yards (828) and fifth-most TDs (7). I think he has that TE1 potential against Miami.
Sits
Tyler Conklin vs Chicago Bears
Choosing between Conklin and KJ Osborn has been the coin flip for many week-to-week. This week I think the Vikings will win this game with Justin Jefferson and Dalvin Cook. I can see this game being put on the back of Cook for the second straight week. Leaving nothing for Conklin or Osborn. If you have some else to play, then put him in.
Conclusion
Guys, I’m proud of us, because we made the big dance, were one step closer to the trophy, the money, and the bragging rights. Let us not mess around this week, if your got stud start em, and if you got questions I hope this article helps to answer them. Let’s go, this is the biggest starts and sits article of the year and I tried my best to put guys in here that the community has questioned the most. So lets go get that dub this week and follow it up with a championship run.
