There are strong narratives in dynasty leagues saying “The 2022 class sucks!” and “Do anything you can to get 2023 firsts!” Though I do agree the 2023 class is looking great and I do agree the 2022 class is subpar, I wouldn’t say it sucks. This article will explain my view of the 2023 rookie hype.
As mentioned previously in my 2022 Rookie 1sts article, I will give this disclaimer: I do not watch much college football. This information is mostly from gathering information from multiple sources and having years of observing how rookies perform in the NFL.
Using names, positions, and tiers, I will try to explain why I am trying to acquire 2023 picks. This is a great move for rebuilding teams, however, now that hype on this class is spreading, they may be getting more difficult to acquire. I hope this article helps you to figure out how to value those picks to get the best value possible. Though this strategy may not make sense for win-now teams, it can still be good to have an idea of the value of these picks in order to sell them at good prices if you need to.

Wrap-Up
Of course, there is a lot of speculation about all of this. Also, values will change a lot in a year. But getting an idea of what the class looks like can at least give you a rough idea of how to value these picks. These are based on my opinions and valuations so take this with a grain of salt. But I hope this at least gives you an idea regarding the 2023 rookie hype.
