Fantasy Football

Dynasty RBs and TEs Suck Right Now

When playing dynasty fantasy football, you want to target young studs. Names that may stick out include Josh Allen and Justin Jefferson. These are players that are not only fantasy assets who have a good chance to finish the year as the top producers at their position, but they are also very young and could dominate for the next 5+ years. There are many other QBs and WRs who likely have multiple good years ahead.

However, when you go over the RB and TE positions, the outlook isn’t as bright. Most of the studs are old and the young stars generally aren’t as good. Dynasty RBs and TEs suck right now.

The Names

When it comes to young RBs who have proven they can be great for fantasy, we pretty much only have Jonathan Taylor, Najee Harris, and D’Andre Swift. Some may put Javonte Williams up there but we don’t know if he’ll escape the balanced timeshare. The other good RBs are around 26 or older, which is often when RBs hit their peaks. For young TEs, Kyle Pitts is the main name that comes to mind though some may argue Mark Andrews is young enough or that T.J. Hockenson is good enough. But Kyle Pitts might not even be great for a while with that horrible offence and the QB downgrade.

So What?

What should you do with this information? In my opinion, if you really believe in these players, you might need to reach for them. Otherwise, you can pay less by acquiring solid young starters or with older veteran studs. Right now, I am mainly focusing on building my teams through QBs and WRs.

Wrap-Up

How I play dynasty, I don’t focus too much on RBs unless the rest of my team is stacked with decent depth. If that’s the case, then I may aim for these young stud RBs. Otherwise, I am okay being slightly subpar at that spot and being stacked everywhere else, where I can rely more on longevity. At the TE spot, I just aim for solid starters. Because I only play Superflex, I would rather spend up on stud QBs who can carry teams. But in general, dynasty RBs and TEs suck right now.
