QB Pivots

A month ago, I mentioned why I like to wait on QBs. In a 14-team redraft league that I am in with my friends, I drafted Dak as the QB13 off the board. I didn’t bother drafting another QB because we only have 6 bench spots. However, as you probably know, Dak got injured in that first game. I then traded him and another player for Trey Lance. Of course, he got injured in the second week and now I need to look for QB pivots. I feel bad for whichever QB I end up starting in week 3.

The reason I prefer to wait on QBs in drafts is that I felt comfortable starting at least 12 QBs. However, with Dak Prescott and Trey Lance going down, that makes the pool much smaller. Additionally, players like Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Russell Wilson have lost weapons that have hindered their fantasy performances as well.

Trade Targets

QBs that are likely rostered as QB2s but that could be traded for are Kirk Cousins, Derek Carr, and Tua Tagovailoa.

Possible Pickups

QBs that are possibly available on waivers are Trevor Lawrence, Jameis Winston, Carson Wentz, and Jared Goff.

Wrap-Up

Last year, I wrote a QB streamer series by only using QBs who were less than 50% rostered. By adding up their fantasy numbers, these streamers put up around a low-end QB1 performance. Streaming QBs can be a good option, but of course, if a streamer hits, you don’t need to keep streaming so don’t give up if your QB1 goes down. You can still do well by just being adequate at that position with QB pivots.
