TE Fantasy Football: DAWGS Or FRAUDS Week 3

Week 3 has just finished, and we will look back at the best and worst TE Fantasy Football performances of the week. Take note that we are using Sleeper’s PPR scoring system for this analysis.

Golden DAWG: David Njoku 23.90 FP

9 Receptions, 89 Receiving Yards, 1 Receiving TD (Projected: 7.78 FP)

David Njoku with a catch in the endzone

David Njoku played his best game of the year against the Steelers when he caught nine receptions for 89 yards and a TD in the second quarter. He was second behind Amari Cooper in targets. Look for him to repeat his production when the Browns play the Falcons in Week 4.

Silver DAWG: Jelani Woods 15.30 FP

2 Receptions, 13 Receiving Yards, 2 Receiving TDs (Projected: 0.93 FP)

Jelani Woods with the game-winning TD

Jelani Woods made his first few targets count as he caught two TDs, including the game-winner against the Chiefs. The rookie had no targets this season and shocked everyone when Matt Ryan threw him the ball. It’s going to be difficult to project him for next week but keep an eye on him in case Matty Ice throws it to him more.

Bronze DAWG: Mark Andrews 28.90 FP

8 Receptions, 89 Receiving Yards, 2 Receiving TDs (Projected: 14.95 FP)

Mark Andrews with one of his eight receptions against the Patriots

Mark Andrews looked like the best TE in fantasy football again when he caught eight balls for 89 yards and two TDs. Lamar Jackson loves throwing it to his favorite teammate, so look for Andrews to have a big game against the Bills next week against an injury-riddled secondary.

Golden FRAUD: Hayden Hurst 1.70 FP

1 Reception, 7 Receiving Yards (Projected: 9.29 FP)

Hayden Hurst with the ball earlier this year

Hayden Hurst was questionable to play in Week 3, but he was still able to play against the Jets. He had his worst game of the year, with only one reception for seven yards. His groin injury may have been bothering him this game, but he was a full participant in practice on Tuesday. Look for him to bounce back in Week 4 against Miami.

Silver FRAUD: Darren Waller 5.20 FP

3 Receptions, 22 Receiving Yards (Projected: 12.08 FP)

Darren Waller was unable to make this catch against the Titans

Darren Waller had his worst game so far this year, where he only had three receptions for 22 yards. Mack Hollins surprisingly led the way with 13 receptions and 151 receiving yards, and a TD. Look for Waller to bounce back against the Broncos.

Bronze FRAUD: Logan Thomas 2.50 FP

2 Receptions, 5 Receiving Yards (Projected: 9.07 FP)

Logan Thomas

Logan Thomas struggled against the Eagles, where he caught two receptions for five receiving yards. Washington looked miserable against the Eagles, and everyone in the Commanders had a tough day. Carson Wentz favors his trio of receivers more than Logan, so he’ll be a tough TE to have in fantasy football.
