DEF/ST Fantasy Football: DAWGS Or FRAUDS Week 6

Week 6 has just finished, and we will look back at the best and worst DEF/ST Fantasy Football performances of the week. Take note that we are using Sleeper’s PPR scoring system for this analysis.

Golden DAWG: New York Jets 21 FP

1 Forced Fumble, 1 Fumble Recovery, 1 Special Teams TD, 4 Sacks, 2 Blocked Kicks, 7-13 Points Allowed (Projected: 4.43 FP)

The Jets look like a sneaky contender in the AFC

The New York Jets defense led the way to the 27-10 win over the Packers. In one of the biggest upsets of the week, the Jets made the Green Bay offense look dull. Quinnen Williams led the way with two sacks and the Jets blocked a punt which led to a TD. Look out for the Jets as they are second in their division with a 4-2 record. The Jets DEF/ST is one of the sneaky teams in fanatsy football also.

Silver DAWG: Seattle Seahawks 20 FP

3 Forced Fumbles, 1 Fumble Recovery, 1 Interception, 6 Sacks, 1-6 Points Allowed (Projected: 6.46 FP)

Kyler was stopped in the Cardinals’ loss to the Seahawks

The Seahawks defense was top-notch as they made Kyler Murray‘s day miserable. Six different players recorded a sack. The defense created three forced fumbles also. Seattle has been one of the biggest surpsrises this season and are tied for first in the NFC West.

Bronze DAWG: Arizona Cardinals 15 FP

1 Defense TD, 1 Forced Fumble, 1 Fumble Recovery, 5 Sacks, 14-20 Points Allowed (Projected: 6.39 FP)

The Cardinals’ defense limited the Seahawks to just a TD

On the other side of the Cardinals-Seahawks game, the Arizona Cardinals defense did their part to keep the game close. The Seahawks’ offense scored just one TD after being so hot to start the season. Chris Banjo recovered a fumble for a TD and was the only score for the Cardinals other than field goals. Zaven Collins also had two sacks to limit Geno Smith.

Golden FRAUD: San Francisco 49ers 1 FP

28-34 Points Allowed, 2 Sacks (Projected: 9.43 FP)

The Falcons ground game couldn’t be stopped

The 49ers’ injuries to the defense was on display in their 28-14 loss to the Falcons. No Arik Armstead, Nick Bosa and Jimmie Ward made it a field day for the Falcons’ rushing attack. The Falcons rushed for 168 yards and dominated the time of possession. San Francisco needs to get healthier if the want a chance to win.

Silver FRAUD: Cleveland Browns 1 FP

35+ Points Allowed, 1 Forced Fumble, 1 Fumble Recovery, 1 Sack (Projected: 8.45 FP)

Rhamondre Stevenson torched the Browns’ defense

The Cleveland Browns defense had no answer for Bailey Zappe and Rhamondre Stevenson in a 38-15 loss to the Patriots. Zappe dominated with 309 passing yards and two TDs while Rhamondre ran for 76 yards and two TDs. The only positive from this game is that Myles Garrett broke the Browns’ all-time sack record with 62.5 for his career so far.

Bronze FRAUD: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3 FP

14-20 Points Allowed, 2 Sacks (Projected: 10.11 FP)

Chase Claypool had a great game against the Tampa Bay defense

Tampa’s defense was solid against the Steelers, but much more was expected from them. The defense only got two sacks for the game and didn’t get anything else which gave them just three fantasy points for the week.
