QB Fantasy Football: DAWGS Or FRAUDS Week 7

Week 7 has just finished, and we will look back at the best and worst QB Fantasy Football performances of the week. Take note that we are using Sleeper’s PPR scoring system for this analysis.

Golden DAWG: Joe Burrow 39.24 FP

481 Passing Yards, 3 Passing TDs, 3 Carries, 20 Rushing Yards, 1 Rushing TD (Projected: 22.65 FP)

Joe Burrow was the best fantasy player in Week 7

Joe Burrow has been unstoppable for the last two games. Against the Falcons, he threw for 481 yards and three TDs with no interceptions. Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd were the lucky recipients of those passes when they combined for 16 catches and 285 yards, and three TDs. The Bengals have looked like the third-best football team in the AFC. Look for a fun matchup with the Browns in Week 8.

Silver DAWG: Andy Dalton 29.54 FP

361 Passing Yards, 4 Passing TDs, 3 Interceptions, 4 Carries, 21 Rushing Yards (Projected: 13.63 FP)

Andy Dalton played well even with the three interceptions

Andy Dalton threw a lot in the Saint’s loss to the Cardinals 42-34. The Saints were down early, especially by back-to-back pick sixes thrown in the second quarter. His 361 passing yards and four passing TDs were season highs. Dalton needs to take care of the football, especially with Jameis Winston potentially ready to return.

Bronze DAWG: Daniel Jones 28.78 FP

202 Passing Yards,1 Passing TD, 11 Carries, 107 Rushing Yards, 1 Rushing TD (Projected: 16.92 FP)

Daniel Jones was unstoppable on the ground against the Jaguars

Daniel Jones ran wild in the Giants’ win over the Jaguars in Week 7. He rushed for 107 yards and a TD and looked unstoppable on the run. Jones added a passing TD in the close win. The Giants QB has looked incredible this year and has led the Giants to a 6-1 record. He will have a tough matchup next week with the Seattle Seahawks defense.

Golden FRAUD: Jared Goff 3.52 FP

228 Passing Yards, 2 Interceptions, 1 Carry, 4 Rushing Yards, 2 Fumbles Lost (Projected: 16.89 FP)

Jared Goff was stopped by the Cowboys in the second half

Jared Goff had his second straight bad outing when the Lions lost to the Cowboys 24-6. Goff threw two interceptions and fumbled twice. The Cowboys’ defense got to him, especially in the second half when Detroit got shut down. Let’s see if the Lions QB can bounce back against the Miami Dolphins in Week 8.

Silver FRAUD: Mac Jones 1.90 FP

13 Passing Yards, 1 Interception, 3 Carries, 24 Rushing Yards (Projected: 14.97 FP)

There’s a QB controversy in New England

No one expected what was going to happen in MNF. In the Patriots’ 33-14 loss to the Bears, Mac Jones was benched after just six passing attempts. After throwing the football to a Bears’ defender in the second quarter, Jones was benched for Bailey Zappe, who started strong but was stopped by the Bears’ defense in the second half. We have to wait for more news to determine what is going on in the QB situation in New England.

Bronze FRAUD: Ryan Tannehill 3.88 FP

132 Passing Yards, 4 Carries, 6 Rushing Yards, 1 Fumble Lost (Projected: 15.45 FP)

Ryan Tannehill just did enough to get the win over the Colts

Ryan Tannehill played poorly in the Titans’ win over the Colts in Week 7. The Titans QB threw for 132 yards and no TDs. During the game, however, he injured his right ankle. After the game, he was seen in a walking boot, so maybe Malik Willis will get the start next week against the Houston Texans.
