2024 NFL Free Agency Losers

This is arguably the biggest free agency ever for fantasy purposes. With a major QB signing and many RBs moving around, there are many fantasy implications in play. Free agency isn’t over, but we’ll get started anyway on 2024 NFL free agency losers. I will be looking at these players from a dynasty fantasy football point of view. You can also check out my article on 2024 NFL free agency winners.

Quarterbacks

These are guys who are losing their jobs or their starting job security. After losing his position last year to Mason Rudolph, Kenny Pickett has seemingly lost his job again to Russell Wilson.

Another big loser is Justin Fields with teams seemingly no longer showing interest in trying to acquire him. There is a very real chance that he is sitting on the bench in the 2024 season.

Jimmy Garoppolo is out of a job and Daniel Jones has new competition in Drew Lock.

Running Backs

The remaining RBs on the Eagles, Packers, Ravens, Titans, Bears, Bengals, and Vikings all took hits with better veterans coming in. The biggest hit goes to Tyjae Spears who many hoped could lead that backfield. Roshon Johnson and Khalil Herbert are also fantasy-relevant RBs who took big hits.

I would say Austin Ekeler and the Commanders RBs including Brian Robinson all take a hit as well. I expect they will all get less usage than last year. I would say the same of Antonio Gibson and the other Patriots RBs including Rhamondre Stevenson.

Aaron Jones may have just got a downgrade in offence so I would say he took a bit of a hit too. He only got a one year deal so there isn’t much security beyond this year.

Through it was through a trade, I would say the Texans RBs took a hit. This includes Joe Mixon who may have more competition for touches than he had previously.

Wide Receivers and Tight Ends

There wasn’t much activity in the world of wide receivers. The biggest hit goes to the receiving weapons in Minnesota with the loss of Kirk Cousins. That would include Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and T.J. Hockenson.

Wrap-Up

This has been a very exciting free agency and it isn’t over yet. Hopefully you didn’t have many of these players on your teams. And if so, maybe you can go sell these 2024 NFL free agency losers, though don’t undervalue them either.
