Howdy, y’all Chris Pinto here Lead Fantasy Football Analyst and Writer for Belly Up Sports with my series on division draft grades. The historic 2020 NFL Draft had its share of head-turning trades and selections along with the commissioner’s own sense of humor, which in my mind made him a little more likable. The draft went on without a hitch to our knowledge. The organizations had wants and needs and we watched as it all unfolded. The selections are in the books and we can move forward. Listed below I have broken down the selections per team and given my overall draft grade for each team’s draft selections. First is the AFC South, home of the Texans, Titans, Jaguars, and Colts.

Houston Texans (AFC South)

Rd. 2 (#40) – Ross Blacklock, DL, TCU
Rd. 3 (#90) – Jonathan Greenard, EDGE Florida
Rd. 4 (#126) – Charlie Heck, OT, UNC
Rd. 4 (#141) – John Reid, CB, Penn State
Rd. 5 (#171) – Isaiah Coulter, WR, Rhode Island

The Houston Texans had some massive holes on both sides of the ball. They had a bland draft with the most exciting pick being CB John Reid. Adding depth at some key positions the organization took some safe players. My overall take was okay, not good, but also not disappointing. From a fantasy take Isaiah Coulter is a guy to watch throughout camp and preseason, he has had some flashes.

Jacksonville Jaguars (AFC South)

Rd. 1 (#20) – K’Lavon Chaisson, EDGE, LSU
Rd. 2 (#42) – Laviska Shenault Jr., WR, Colorado
Rd. 3 (#73) – Davon Hamilton, DL, Ohio State
Rd. 4 (#116) – Ben Bartch, OT, St. John’s
Rd. 4 (#137) – Josiah Scott, CB, Michigan State
Rd. 4 (#140) – Shaq Quarterman, LB, Miami
Rd. 5 (#157) – Daniel Thomas, S, Auburn
Rd. 5 (#165) – Collin Johnson, WR, Texas
Rd. 6 (#189) – Jake Luton, QB, Oregon State
Rd. 7 (#223) – Chris Claybrooks, CB, Memphis

The Jacksonville Jaguars had the most picks in the AFC South and they used them in a most excellent way. Adding heavily to their defensive side of the ball they scored with some huge upside guys in Henderson, Chaisson, Scott, and Claybrooks. The Jags also added some great building blocks in Luton, Johnson, and Shenault Jr. My overall take is excited and this organization could be a contender for the AFC South soon. From a fantasy take I love Collin Johnson and Laviska Shenault Jr. if he can stay healthy. I love both of them in Dynasty Leagues but have little value to me in season-long Redraft leagues.

Jacksonville Jaguars Draft Grade – A (95)

Tennessee Titans (AFC South)

Rd. 1 (#29) – Isaiah Wilson, OT, Georgia
Rd. 2 (#61) – Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
Rd. 3 (#93) – Darrynton Evans, RB, App State
Rd. 5 (#174) – Larrell Murchison, EDGE, NC State
Rd. 7 (#224) – Cole McDonald, QB, Hawaii
Rd. 7 (#243) – Chris Jackson, CB, Marshall

The Tennessee Titans had a great run last season and we expect them to do the same this season. That being said, they addressed their missing pieces badly. They reached for guys when they didn’t have to, and settled for others. My overall take is that the organization must have done some extra research on these guys, because I don’t get it. From a fantasy take, Darrynton Evans. from Appalachian State boasting 4.41 speed, is interesting in Dynasty leagues as he could be the possible number two and passing down back in a run heavy offense.

Indianapolis Colts (AFC South)

Rd. 2 (#41) – Jonathan Taylor, RB, Wisconsin
Rd. 3 (#85) – Julian Blackmon, S, Utah
Rd. 4 (#122) – Jacob Eason, QB, Washington
Rd. 5 (#149) – Danny Pinter, OL, Ball State
Rd. 6 (#193) – Robert Windsor, DL, Penn State
Rd. 6 (#211) – Isaiah Rodgers, CB, UMass
Rd. 6 (#212) – Dezmon Patmon, WR, Washington State
Rd. 6 (#213) – Jordan Glasgow, LB, Michigan

The Indianapolis Colts have had a roller coaster of events at the quarterback position. They have made moves and now they have a very experienced crew with Philip Rivers at the helm. The organization defiantly maximized their picks, selecting the future of their team Pittman Jr., Taylor, and Eason. My overall take is they dominated the draft and I’m excited for their future stars. My fantasy take is you have to have pieces of this future offense. Taylor, Pittman Jr., and Eason are must owns in Dynasty leagues.

Indianapolis Colts Draft Grade – A+ (98)
