Belly Up Auction Mock: Travis’s Picks

We did our Auction Mock draft recently on Belly Up Fantasy; which you can tune into with us every Saturday (times vary so make sure and keep those notifications on.) We had a standard $200 budget in this one and my strategy mostly was to let everyone else go bananas over some of the other players and then start scooping up the value where I could get it.

This part here is the most important part of doing an Auction Draft: Always be quick to read the room and try to find who the more aggressive bidders are in the room.

I will be going into a couple of players from my starting lineup in today’s article which is 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, and 2 Flex positions.

QB- Deshaun Watson $9

Went with more of a late-round QB choice during this draft. Watson was my last player picked during this mock and $9 is a great value to get him at. Watson is always a fringe MVP candidate every year that he has been in the league and this could be that year he finally achieves it. His rushing floor and his ability to extend plays with his legs make him invaluable in this offense. All this speed that he has at WR is going to make things very, very interesting in Houston this year. I currently have Watson listed as my QB 6 in my rankings, but for what I paid for him in this auction compared to similar players below or at his caliber is just mind-blowing to me that I got him on the cheap.

RB- Alvin Kamara $62

Drafted Alvin Kamara here for $62. This guy could easily finish as the top RB in 2020. He is poised to have a huge bounce-back season with the Saints. His touchdown numbers should also bounce back to that double-digit numbers that we are used to seeing from him. I currently also have Kamara as my RB4 for 2020 and where I got him at for that price seems just right for me.

TE- Darren Waller $6

Darren Waller is a big-bodied receiver in which Derek Carr loves to target throughout the ’20s. Yes, you won’t be able to get him at a huge discount as most did going into the 2019 season. I did however still managed to get him on the cheap. Like Alvin Kamara, Waller’s reception to touchdown ratio should also increase this season. Waller could easily be thee TE to end up with the most touchdowns in 2020. Did I forget to mention he is my TE 2? I have Travis Kelce tucked away also and since this is a double flex league I could start them both weekly.

Here is the rest of my team as follows: Allen Robinson- $30, Travis Kelce- $31, Dalvin Cook- $37, Robert Woods- $12, Michael Pittman- $2, Terry McLaurin- $7, Mark Ingram- $3, Alexander Mattison- $1.
