Atlanta Falcons: 2022 Win Total

The Falcons have won seven games in three out of the last four seasons. However, they will be without Matt Ryan for the first time since 2007, when they finished 4-12. This year the Falcons aren’t necessarily contenders, in my honest opinion, but they have an interesting future coming up. However, we are focused on the 2022 campaign, and let’s dive right into their win total. Do the Falcons win over or under five games in 2022?

Post Matt Ryan Offense

With Matt Ryan being the quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts, we are entering a rebuild for the Falcons’ future. Right now, we are looking at a Marcus Mariota-led offense here with his former offensive coordinator Arthur Smith. The Falcons have two rookies that I am interested in watching in 2022. Those two rookies are Drake London and Tyler Allgeier. Allgeier might take a little longer to get going, but London should be a top two option on this team in week number one.

Atlanta also has Kyle Pitts, who is a top tight end in this league as he is going into his sophomore campaign. I see this young offense going through some struggles early, but I can see the upside of the offense as the season progresses. They are going to need some guys to step up that way. It will make it easier for their two-headed monster of Pitts and London to get open. This offense is going to be curious to see how they progress.

Defensive Struggles Continue

I think Atlanta has a good duo in the secondary in AJ Terrell and Casey Hayward. Hayward is a two-time Pro Bowler and a ten-year veteran. AJ Terrell is entering his third year, but he has so much upside for the Falcons. Besides these two, I really like Grady Jarrett and Deion Jones once he comes off the PUP list. However, I think the defense for Atlanta needs some work in other areas. Besides Grady Jarrett, their defensive line is very young.

You always focus on the upside with this defense having some young talent. However, I think the Falcons will struggle early and often this season, and we will see some serious struggles.

Over/Under 5 Wins?

Let’s check out the Atlanta Falcons schedule.

The first five games are tough for Atlanta. I think they beat Seattle as their only win during their first five games. After going up to their bye week, I see them beating Carolina once and Chicago. Then I see them losing the last four games after the bye week. Their finishing record of 3-14 is where I see Atlanta finishing. Easily they could win five, but I think a lot of struggles will happen in the 2022 season. I am taking the under 5-win total for the Falcons.
