Every NFL season comes with brutal injuries and there’s no fun in that. The only people that benefit from an injury are of course the back up running backs. They get their shot to prove themselves worthy of a career in the league. Here is a list of some high-end insurance options you may want to stash going into the Fantasy season.
Chuba Hubbard – Panthers
Last Season Mike Davis was one of the best insurance options to ever be. He seemingly fit right in with the pace of play, even as CMC‘s replacement. This is great news for the rookie Chuba Hubbard. Hubbard was exceptional in college and even resembles McCaffrey with his running style. I think he will get a decent amount of playing time this year and if McCaffrey were to miss any time, I think that he would immediately become a great fantasy option. Even with McCaffrey at full health, I think Hubbard could make his presence felt.
AJ Dillion – Packers
It is no secret that I myself am a big AJ Dillon fan, and there are a few reasons why you should be too. He is in position to take on a much bigger role this season, he put on a show in the one game he was awarded touches, and lastly, he is going to be playing alongside Aaron Rodgers this season.
Tony Pollard – Cowboys
It seems the whole league is just waiting for Tony Pollard to get his chance. He has shown us in the past that he can be a great player. I think this year they will finally start to utilize him. In my opinion, Zeke can’t continue to take on all the work with Pollard at the ready. It is detrimental to the team as a whole to bench Pollard regardless of the money spent on Elliott.
Latavius Murray – Saints
Latavius Murray has had his moments but usually only when Kamara is ruled out. Most insurance options are like that. However, I think he may be in position to be more than that this year. The Saints are low on options for playmakers and he is one familiar with the system. I expect him to be much more involved in the game plan than in previous years. However, the Saints have just signed Devonta Freeman to their roster so Murray is not the RB2 just yet.
Chris Evans – Bengals
The Bengals running backs have had high highs and low lows over the past few years. Giovani Bernard had been taking away a bunch of touches from Joe Mixon over the years and I believe Evans may be in position to do the same. He is known for his pass-catching ability and was seemingly drafted to replace Bernard who was a pass-catching specialist.
