Belly Up Bowl Week 14 Update

Welcome to the Belly Up Bowl Week 14 Update! For the third consecutive season, Belly Up Fantasy Sports is proud to host the Belly Up Bowl fantasy tournament to raise money for charity. And for the second year in a row, we’re partnering with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. This year, 72 teams across six leagues are vying for the trophy, a bit of prize money, and the right to call themselves the 2022 Belly Up Bowl champion. Each week from now until the championship game, we’ll update you on who’s hot and who’s not in each league, including notes on league standings and the top five overall ranking. Remember, this is a “Best Ball” format, and overall scoring is just as important as win-loss record.

Each Belly Up Bowl league is named after a real Alex’s Lemonade Stand Childhood Cancer Hero. We’ve linked to each of their stories in their league’s review, so we can keep in perspective why we’re all here. A reminder that in addition to the money we’re donating raised from players’ league entry fees, you can always donate directly to Alex’s Lemonade Stand. You can also check out the many other ways to help, either by utilizing one of the additional methods of giving, or by getting involved directly. Here’s where things stand in the Belly Up Bowl Week 14 Update.

Scoring Format

Belly Up Bowl Week 14 Update: League Amara

League Amara saw a new leader emerge as Team HighLowSports won the heavyweight battle with Team PapaDragon2005. Team PapaDragon2005 scored the most points of any losing team in Amara last week, but it was a loss all the same. League Amara has some real heavy hitters at the top of the standings. Just third in League Amara, Team HighLowSports is the ninth-highest scoring team in the entire tournament. Team PapaDragon2005 and Team JordanJames are the only two leaguemates in the entire Bowl with over 2,500 points and rank second and third overall in the Belly Up Bowl. Team JordanJames had the top game score of any team in the tournament last week with 217.08 points. Meanwhile, Team tjsumpter55 had the second-highest score in the tournament, but the misfortune of being in the same league as Team JordanJames.

At the bottom are a couple of hard-luck teams at the moment. Team SttChaseFFB lost by just 2.06 points to Team Semtexmex. It was the fourth loss in a row for the last place team in Amara. Team 4WhomJBellTolls has lost five straight.

High Riser: Team ryanhicks63 (+2)

Fast Faller: Team 4WhomJBellTolls (-2)

High Score of the Week: Team JordanJames (217.08)

Belly Up Bowl Week 14 Update: League Heather

Not much movement in the standings in League Heather this week, as the top four teams remained the same. Blue Chase Stuffed Olaves and Team 18n1CallMeGreat are first and second in points scored in Heather, but just third and fourth in the standings. Second place The CHAMP is here! have won four in a row to claim their spot, while Team RyanMinerFFB had the good fortune to face the lowest score of the week in the league. Team RyanMinerFFB has seemingly had good luck all along this season, as they’re the lowest-scoring of any of the six Belly Up Bowl league leaders. Meanwhile, @ShanePHALLAM is the lowest-scoring team in the top half of their league at the moment, sitting in fifth place despite being 12th-lowest in points in the tournament. Overall, League Heather remains the highest-scoring league in total points.

High Riser: @ShanePHALLAM (+2)

Fast Faller: Team ADion802 (-2)

High Score of the Week: Blue Chase Stuffed Olaves (191.82)

Belly Up Bowl Week 14 Update: League Landon

Team sportsfansc were able to hang on to both their scoring lead and league lead last week, thanks to a narrow 174.02-171.76 victory over Team PickleRiot66. The three teams directly under Team sportsfansc all lost, maintaining their positions but allowing Team sportsfansc to open up a two-game lead in the league. That’s the second-best margin any league leader is currently enjoying. Team Rindo is last in the standings and last in League Landon in scoring. But they can hold their heads somewhat higher, as they have the most points of any team to be last in their league in scoring. LAMBardi used a win this week to climb out of the cellar. While tied with Team Rindo record-wise, LAMBardi enjoy a comfortable scoring margin and have actually out-scored four other teams in the league as well.

High Riser: Team GenesisFantasyCards (+2)

Fast Fallers: Bluealgae, Team badprodigy (-2)

High Score of the Week: Team rrummel90 (191.70)

Belly Up Bowl Week 14 Update: League Leevi

In another matchup of top teams, UrbanKickedHim prevailed over top overall scorer Team BuckeyeFan91 174.38-155.34. The two teams are now tied with identical 11-3 records, second-best in the entire Bowl as two of just five teams with at least 11 wins. Team BuckeyeFan91 maintains the top spot in the standings by virtue of being the top-scoring team in the Bowl and the only team with over 2,600 points to date. Team BellyUpWill is second in League Leevi in scoring, but has lost three straight games to find themselves stuck in fourth place at 7-7. All the significant movement in the standings occurred in the bottom half of the league this week, as most of the teams shuffled places from seventh through twelfth.

High Risers: Monkey Fighting Snakes, Team cjoneswho (+2)

Fast Faller: Team ktompkinsii (-3)

High Score of the Week: Monkey Fighting Snakes (208.88)

Belly Up Bowl Week 14 Update: League Mary

@EmPoweredFF squeaked out a 153.80-151.16 victory over Purple Pride to move to 11-3 and gain an outright lead in League Mary. Team sugarfreemocha fell a game back with a loss to Team FFReserve. @EmPoweredFF and Team sugarfreemocha remain not just first and second in the standings, but in the scoring in League Mary. Mired in a four game losing streak, Team All22FantasyGM has gone from two games over .500 to two games below. Team KZfromPressBox has misery of their own. They are one of only two teams with fewer than 2,000 points in the Bowl. In fact, they have less than 1,900 points, and have lost eight straight. At the moment, that’s good for the longest active losing streak. League Mary continues to be the lowest-scoring league in total points.

High Riser: Team blainebellyupsports (+2)

Fast Faller: Team GoingFor2DotCom (-2)

High Score of the Week: Team FFReserve (176.90)

Belly Up Bowl Week 14 Update: League Preslie

Despite the fact they have only the fifth-most points in the Bowl, Team thorhalla still have the best record overall. Their 12-2 mark has them not just atop the tournament record-wise, but gives them a four game lead in League Preslie. Remarkably, five teams are tied at 8-6 behind them. Of those, Team rusj75 sits in second place by virtue of having the second-most points in the league. Less than 50 points back is Team Flawlesss, coming off a victory over the afore-mentioned Team rusj75.

In spite of the overall parity in the league, the teams at the bottom rest far behind in League Preslie. While Team ShaneSays were able to climb out of last place with a win, they remain the lowest-scoring team in the Bowl. Team shawn8386, meanwhile, have lost six in a row. Their 3-11 record makes them one of just four teams in the Bowl with fewer than four wins.

High Risers: Team CommishCasey, General Mills, Team injuredlistpod, Team ShaneSays (+1)

Fast Faller: Team Crewser128 (-3)

High Score of the Week: Team CommishCasey (199.28)

Overall Top Five Scorers
