Belly Up Start Em, Sit Em: Week 10

Thanks for joining me for Belly Up Start Em, Sit Em: Week 10! We’re missing these teams due to byes: the Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, and the lowly New York Jets. I’m looking at guys with favorable matchups who might be on the fringe of your starting lineups. Also, digging up players to avoid if you’re in need of a home run this week as we hit the gas pedal in the fantasy playoff race!

Start Em: QBs

What Is Carson Wentz's Net Worth?

Carson Wentz @ NYG

Eagles QB Carson Wentz comes into Week 10 with the healthiest supporting casts he’s had all of 2020. WRs Jalen Reagor returned before the bye, and Alshon Jeffery is finally set to make his season debut. Breakout rookie WR Travis Fulgham has 5+ receptions and/or a TD in each of their last five games. The Eagles will also have the services of TE Dallas Goedert and starting RB Miles Sanders as well. Wentz carved up the New York Giants defense for 359 yards and 2 TDs and added a rushing TD as well just two weeks ago, his only 300 yard game this season. I look for Wentz to look poised and comfortable with his weapons back in the huddle facing a Giants defense that has allowed 270+ yards passing in six of their last seven outings.

Jared Goff @ Sea

Rams QB Jared Goff is quietly on his way to posting a career high completion percentage. Week 10 Goff is visiting the Seahawks defense who has allowed opposing QBs to complete 74% of their passes the last three weeks, the highest in the league. Seattle is the league’s worst pass defense, only Kirk Cousins in Week 5 didn’t surpass the 300 yard mark against Seattle. Even 49ers QBs combined for 322 in a game Garoppolo was injured, 238 from Nick Mullens in relief. The Rams passing attack should roll in Seattle this week, making yet another shoot-out for the Seahawks and QB Russell Wilson. I smell fireworks!

Start Em: RBs

Can't-Miss Play: James Robinson takes flight on EPIC hurdle

James Robinson @ GB

Jaguars RB James Robinson fell a single yard short of posting back to back 100 yard rushing days last week vs Houston. The Packers have allowed the second most fantasy points to opposing RBs, and surrendered 11 rushing TDs. Only the Lions and Raiders have allowed more through their first eight games. Green Bay has been torched by opposing RBs all season. If Robinson logs his third consecutive 20+ carry game, and his usual target share gives him potential the to be RB1 in Week 10.

Mike Davis vs TB

Mike Davis posted an 8 reception 74 yard relief effort in a Week 2 loss to the Buccaneers, the game we saw Christian McCaffrey leave with an injury. He’s been RB5 in PPR scoring since being thrusted in to action. With Christian McCaffrey’s return short lived, Mike Davis is back to his RB1 role in Carolina. As the Panthers look to pounce on a vulnerable Bucs team, I see Mike Davis having a large role in an effort to keep the ball out of Tom Brady’s hands. If he’s on your roster, plug him in!

Start Em: WRs

Robert Woods Fantasy Outlook Includes Rock-Solid WR2 Value

Robert Woods @ Sea

Robert Woods averages 6 receptions for 85 yard in his career against the Seattle Seahawks, and they’ve never been this poor of a pass defense. Seattle has allowed the most fantasy points to WRs, and has has the league’s worst pass defense, playing particularly poor vs the WR position. Woods is a lock for 90% of the offensive snaps for the Rams, and at the rate he’s been reaching the endzone he has a real opportunity to post multiple TDs and season highs in yards and/or receptions. Huge divisional implications in this game, Big Game Bob is in for an afternoon!

Brandin Cooks @ Cle

Texans WR Brandin Cooks has made the biggest turn around since the firing of HC Bill O’Brien. Cooks has been targeted 39 times in the last four weeks, and has snagged a TD in three out of those four. The Browns defense has allowed 17 passing TDs, tied for third most through their first eight games. Five WRs have posted 80+ yard days against the Browns secondary as well. Cooks is hot right now, I’m rolling with him – especially in this matchup.

Start Em: TEs

Detroit Lions: T.J. Hockenson could make offense elite in 2020

T.J. Hockenson vs WFT

The University of Iowa product is currently standing proudly at TE4 in the Belly Up Bowl. His five receiving TDs are tied for second most among the TEs position. The Washington Football Team has allowed six receiving TDs to opposing TEs, among the most in the NFL, and surrenders the sixth most fantasy points to the TE position. With teammate Kenny Golladay missing another game, the Lions passing attack will be centered around their second year star. Hockenson should be in for a top five outing with WFT coming to town.

Mike Gesicki vs LAC

Mike Gesicki has only logged 4 receptions for 50 yards over his last three games, but has a real opportunity to bounce back for you in Week 10. The Los Angeles Chargers visit the Dolphins having allowed TDs to opposing TEs in four of their last five games. The Chargers have been susceptible to the big play from TEs, I expect rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa to look for his 6’6″ TE early and often in the absence of WR Preston Williams.

Sit Em: QBs

Boomer Esiason Has A Message For Everyone About Joe Burrow

Joe Burrow @ Pit

The Fantasy ROY candidate rolls into Pittsburgh for what is likely to be the toughest test of his rookie campaign. The Steelers haven’t allowed any passer to tally three TDs in a game through eight games. Burrow has struggled against the league’s top tier defenses, failing to throw TDs vs the Baltimore Ravens and the Indianapolis Colts. Temper expectations for the promising signal caller in Week 10, Pittsburgh is looking to avenge a near-miss in Dallas last week.

Teddy Bridgewater vs TB

Teddy Bridgewater has played well in Carolina, currently fifth in passing yards (just ahead of Tom Brady). The Buccaneers got rocked by the the New Orleans Saints last week, I expect them to be focused on an important divisional game. The Buccaneers defense has allowed the seventh fewest fantasy points to opposing QBs, and Teddy is yet to throw three TDs in a game this season. Ball control will be the answer if Carolina has a shot at the upset.

Sit Em: RBs

NFL: Devin Singletary Could Be a Fantasy Football Star Down the Stretch

Devin Singletary @ Ari

Singletary has seen his snap percentage drastically drop since the return of RB Zack Moss to the lineup. This week the Bills travel to Arizona and face the Cardinals defense who has allowed the fewest rushing TDs in the league. Only two players have rushed for 75+ yards against Arizona all season. With Singletary seemingly being left behind by Moss, and this matchup, I am looking elsewhere for RB production in Week 10.

Jerick McKinnon @ NO

McKinnon has been less than consistent for fantasy owners this season, and has had the “tired legs” mess as of late as well. This week the 49ers head East and visit the New Orleans Saints who allow the third fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs. The Saints have only allowed two RBs to rush for 80+ yards, and they’ve only allowed three TDs to RBs on the ground, and two through the air all season. The 49ers offense is still missing almost every vital piece, avoid McKinnon in this matchup in the heat of the fantasy playoff race.

Sit Em: WRs

Adam Thielen Likely To Return This Week for Vikings

Adam Thielen @ Chi

Adam Thielen has been cold as of late, if not for a Week 6 TD against the Falcons he would have logged 3 consecutive games under 10 fantasy points in PPR scoring. This week the Vikings visit the Bears in a divisional matchup against one of the NFLs best defenses. Chicago allows the third fewest fantasy points to opposing WRs, and has only allowed three receving TDs to WRs this season. With RB Dalvin Cook rolling as of late, I expect Minnesota to keep things simple in a low scoring divisional battle!

DeVante Parker vs LAC

Dolphins WR DeVante Parker has been incredibly inconsistent throughout the year thus far. This week he matches up against the Chargers defense who allows the 10th fewest fantasy points to opposing WRs. With fellow WR Preston Williams sitting on IR and RB inuries everywhere, I expect the Chargers will be able to key on Parker. With a rookie QB making his second start it will be vital for the Chargers to take away his first read as much as possible, that’s Parker. I am avoiding the Dolphins WR in my startingn lineups in Week 10.

Sit Em: TEs

Baltimore Ravens Mark Andrews named among best TEs in NFL

Mark Andrews @ NE

Mark Andrews has vastly underwhelmed fantasy owners in 2020, this week looks to be no different. Andrews has failed to reach 35 yards receiving in five of his team’s eight games. Andrews hasn’t caught a TD pass in three straight games and visits the New England Patriots in Week 10. The Patriots defense has allowed the fewest points to opposing TEs, and have only allowed one TD to a TE, that being the Raiders Foster Moreau, I’m sure he’s pretty good…

Jimmy Graham vs Min

Graham opened 2020 with a stretch that resembled his former dominance, scoring four TDs in the first five games of the year. He has since only scored once in the last four games, and faces the Vikings this week. Minnesota has only allowed three receiving TDs to opposing TEs all season. Graham has posted 50+ receiving yards only twice all season, rendering him extremely TD dependent. I’m avoiding the Bears TE in Week 10 in what may shape up to be a low scoring battle.
