Boom or Bust WRs

I’m doing a series of articles on players with a wide range of possibilities for dynasty. They could be done for fantasy or could be top assets at the position. I’ll be avoiding rookies since they’re easy targets for this type of category. I want to look at players who have at least shown signs of talent on the NFL field. We’ll continue with the wide receiver position. Here are some boom or bust WRs.

Marquise Brown

We’ve seen flashes in Baltimore and Arizona. However, Marquise Brown had a rough season to end off his tenure with the Cardinals. This is possibly because of his injury, but it could also be a sign of his abilities. If he is just an unreliable field stretcher, then his value would plummet since his situation in the future will likely be worse. If it was just an injury, Marquise could put up crazy numbers in catching the ball from the best passer in the league. Add an extension from the Chiefs to that, and he could be one of the top dynasty assets since the Chiefs seem to reluctant to bring in a big name.

George Pickens

His athletic talent is tough to deny. However, his struggles with separation puts his reliability into question. However, Russell Wilson could be a great fit for him. George Pickens can make contested catches downfield and Russ can facilitate that. If they can develop their chemistry to make this a regular occurrence, they could put up high numbers together.

Diontae Johnson

This is arguably more of a bet on Bryce Young than Diontae Johnson. You might remember that Adam Thielen was a top-8 PPR WR in the first half of this past season. We’ve seen Bryce can hyper-target a receiver and we’ve seen Diontae get hyper-targeted in Pittsburgh. If the new coaching staff can unlock the potential people saw that made him the first overall pick and he makes Diontae his top target, we could see him skyrocket up rankings.

Wrap Up

Hopefully, this gave you some ideas of players you could consider buying or selling depending on your comfort level and how trade partners in your leagues may feel about them.
