Buy Hunter Henry

In case you missed it, Jonnu Smith was traded to the Atlanta Falcons and Jakobi Meyers left the organization in free agency. These two represented just over a quarter of the team’s targets and yards. The top two remaining leaders in targets and receptions from the team are Rhamondre Stevenson and Hunter Henry. The top two remaining leaders in yards are DeVante Parker and Hunter Henry. This is a time to buy Hunter Henry, even with people realizing his stock is going up.

At What Price?

His ADP is currently the TE30 in vet dynasty startup drafts. And with rookies included, 6 are being taken ahead of him. I think he should easily be a top 15 TE now. He was the TE22 last year and the TE 10 the year before that. But I think his upside is to be a top 7 TE. At 28 years of age, he’s also not that old for the position.

Disclaimer

I do expect the Patriots to bring in other receiving weapons. But Bill Belichick isn’t known for bringing in big-name WRs and he is horrible at drafting them. I definitely doubt he brings in another big-name pass-catching TE. Even if he brings in someone else, we know Mac Jones has chemistry with Hunter Henry.

Wrap-Up

Not including the 2018 season that he completely missed due to a torn ACL, he has averaged a TE15 finish. So I think ranking as a top 15 TE (for redraft or dynasty) with the upside to be better is very reasonable. If you have league-mates still ranking him in the 20s or 30s, I’d recommend buying Hunter Henry from them. In redraft leagues, you may be able to save drafting a TE until the very last round with him.
