Buy Low and Sell High in Week 5

Another week is in the books and there were tons of injuries in week 4, which can change a lot. To help you navigate this, here are some suggestions on who to buy low and sell high in week 5.

Buy Low

Michael Gallup

CeeDee Lamb has not had much target competition besides Noah Brown for a while. But that is going to change now. Michael Gallup has proven himself to be a good receiver and should take away more targets. Dak has shown he likes to spread the ball around. Before CeeDee Lamb was drafted, people saw Michael Gallup as the WR2 behind Amari Cooper. But he still finished as the WR22 despite missing 2 games and he put up about as many PPR points as the supposed WR1. If Dak comes back strong and Gallup returns to form after his ACL injury, he should be a solid FLEX starter most weeks.

DJ Moore

Baker Mayfield may not be the QB upgrade many were expecting, but DJ Moore has shown that he can produce with any QB. He may not have the ceiling many hoped for but he should be better than he’s been so far. His target share should increase and this past week showed that.

Sell High

Austin Ekeler

He was one of the top drafted RBs and has since been very disappointing. Much of this has to do with the losses in the offensive line (he was averaging well under 3 YPC before this week). But much of it has to do with his numbers last year being hugely inflated by touchdowns. He’s finally had a big game and the reason is partly to do with facing a weaker Houston team and partly to do with him getting 3 touchdowns. If anyone is valuing Austin Ekeler close to where he was being drafted, I’d sell to them.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire

CEH has a high rank right now on the season. Many have been saying to sell high on Clyde Edwards-Helaire for a while but it seemed too early since he still had many doubters at the time. Now that people are truly changing their minds on him, I think it’s time to sell if you can find someone else in your league who has bought into his fantasy numbers and sees him as a locked-in RB1. First of all, I think he is a sell because his fantasy performance has been highly touchdown-dependent. Secondly, Isaiah Pacheco is emerging as a really good back and could start taking more touches away.

Wrap-Up

There are plenty of other buy-low and sell-high options but these are a few of them. I’ll be back every week with new names, but here are some ideas for who to buy low and sell high in week 5.
