In fairness, this is an article I should have written months ago, however, there’s still a chance to buy Marquise Brown before his value explodes. Barring injury, the floor and ceiling for Hollywood Brown should be immense for the second half of the season.
The Team Loves Him
The Cardinals traded a 1st round pick for Brown and a 3rd rounder even though he only had two years left on his contract. To justify it, he is getting crazy usage right now. He is 11th in the league for targets and his snap percentage has never been below 84%. He’s already a WR2 with a backup quarterback, averaging 13.9 points per game.
Kyler Loves Him
You may remember that DeAndre Hopkins was suspended for the first six weeks of the 2022 season. In those six games, Hollywood was 4th in targets and never had a snap percentage below 93%. He was the WR5 throughout that stretch, averaging 18.3 PPR points per game. Kyler Murray can definitely bump up Hollywood’s production, especially if he runs less after the injury. The two even hang out outside of football.
The Future
Kyler Murray is practicing again. I expect he’ll be playing within a few weeks. We’ve seen that Marquise already has a solid WR2 floor right now. We’ve seen he has a WR1 ceiling with Kyler Murray. Also, he has a pretty good playoff schedule, especially if you have a week 15 bye week to avoid the 49ers matchup. After that, he gets to face the Bears and then the Eagles. Both those teams give up more points than average to fantasy wide receivers.
Wrap-Up
He probably won’t be cheap, but in redraft leagues, I’d be willing to sell someone like D.J. Moore, Puka Nacua, Michael Pittman, Garrett Wilson, and Chris Olave for him. In dynasty leagues, he could be bought for a mid-to-late first. However, it’s possible you could get him for less since he’s not a popular name. Now could be a good time to buy Marquise Brown.
