Coca Cola 600 Driver Options

Tomorrow’s race in Charlotte is one of the crown jewel races for NASCAR races. The 600-mile race is one every one circles due to its close proximity to all of the shops in North Carolina. Each and every single team would love to wrap up bragging rights for another year. I’m just thankful that we are getting to see this crown jewel. There will be a small difference about it though, with that being these cars will actually be qualifying for starting position. That alone could change things up for tomorrow nights Coca Cola 600. However let me get on with it and give you a few different drivers to take a chance tomorrow.

Coca Cola 600 Stars?

Martin Truex Jr. ($10,600)

The biggest salary on my list of drivers today, however, he is going to be the fourth costliest driver to choose from on Draft Kings one million dollar contest. I am quite okay with that though because in Martins’s last four races here his worst finish is third and he’s won two of those four races. Just so you can get an idea of how good he is here, he’s led a crazy 440 laps total in those last four races as well. So, at $10,600 he is pricey but honestly if you want to disregard his 6-1 odds then that’s up too you.

Chase Elliott ($9,700)

In seven career starts here Chase has an average finish of around tenth place. After the way Wednesday’s night race ended something tells me Chase and his team are going to be out to prove something. HIs 15-2 odds have him listed as the fourth highest driver in Vegas. So, obviously I am not the only one who sees his potential to win or at least contend for the Coca Cola 600 win.

Middle of The Pack Spending

Tyler Reddick ($7,900)

I am a little hesitant to throw Tyler in this lineup. This is one of the biggest races of the year and he’s only a rookie. However, out of all the rookie class Tyler has shown me the most this short season. Tyler also did win the most recent Xfinity race last year at Charlotte after leading 110 laps. So that shows me he knows how to get to victory lane in Charlotte. While his $7,900 salary and his Vegas odds (50-1) don’t exactly match in my opinion due to my pricier options I felt like Tyler was a solid mid-range driver for the Coca Cola 600.

Matt Kenseth ($7,700)

The wily old veteran is back in my lineup once again. I for some reason am going to ride with him again this week. I mean it could be the fact that in his previous five starts his worst finish came last year of 17th. Not to mention he does have two career wins at NASCAR’s home track. While once again much like Tyler his Vegas odds(40-1) are a little low I feel like experience and good equipment could make Matt a solid starter for anyone this weekend.

Coca Cola 600 Small Money Driver

Aric Almirola ($7,500)

In Aric’s career at Charlotte he has raced a total of thirteen times. His average finish is around fourteenth. I know I know that’s not phenomenal. However for Vegas to have him at 50-1 and his salary to be what it is that is enough for me to consider putting Aric in as a low salary option.

Ryan Newman ($6,500)

Ryan Newman is a low option but much like Aric he a veteran who has plenty of experience. While Ryan’s previous three starts haven’t finished that way him or any of his fans would want. It’s the prior nine starts before that in which he didn’t have a finish outside of the top fifteen. Ryan sits at 80-1 in Vegas for the Coca Cola 600, but who knows that’s a deficit that could reward you big come Sunday night.

Secondary Choices

For your big money spenders if you don’t like how the Toyota camp has looked this year I understand. However the next best option that is not a Toyota driver in my opinion is Jimmie Johnson. Jimmie sits at a salary cost of $9,200 and 16-1 odds in Vegas. Now if you want the big money drivers you can always go the route of Kevin Harvick ($11,200) or Kyle Busch ($11,500) either of them could be solid choices possibly.

Stay Away

Clint Bowyer the beloved fan favorite. We all love Clint for his hilarious radio conversations, and antics off the track. However you need to stay far away from Clint tomorrow night. While his $8,300 salary stands to be extremely tempting do not put him in the lineup. In his previous ten start’s Clint has yet to finish inside of the top ten. While he is a past winner something as of late just has not clicked at Charlotte. I have two other options I think you also need to stay far away from those being Ryan Blaney ($8,100) and Erik Jones ($8,500) neither of them has a good history at Charlotte.

Conclusion

This has been a long week for a dude who covers the cup series odds and salaries. I have written three different articles this week but wouldn’t have it any other way really. Tomorrow night’s race should be another good one for us fans at home.
