It’s time for some fantasy NASCAR once again! I know it been a while since we have had some actual on-track racing to place bets on but never fear this Sunday, cars will be turning laps. However, there will not be a traditional weekend before the race. With teams unloading cars on Sunday with no practice or qualifying. The starting order has been set already, so betting on these races is going to be a little more difficult. However, I am going to give you the best drivers for your Draft Kings lineup and the Vegas odds for each of those drivers. So, let’s get this Darlington Odds Article started for all of you looking for some help heading into this Sunday.
Big Money Darlington Drivers
Brad Keselowski ($10,400)
Brad is a past winner at Darlington, so that experience could help him this weekend. Especially since there will not be any qualifying, or practice sessions for teams. In the five races at Darlington Brads worst finish is fifteenth. He’s led a total of 289 laps in those five races as well. Brad is a driver who knows how to lead and win at Darlington. His Vegas odd’s are sitting right now at 8-1 which put him as one of the drivers with better odds to compete for a win Sunday.
Erik Jones ($9,200)
Last falls winner of the Southern 500, is relatively highly prices on Draft Kings especially compared to his odds(14-1). I think Erik is a driver you need to make some room for on your list of drivers. He has only had three career starts at Darlington but has made the most out of each of them. Last year he started 15th surged to the front and picked up a win. In his other two career starts he’s not finished outside of the top ten so like I mentioned above a driver with experience with good runs, and wins will have an advantage I do believe.
Average Spending
Kurt Busch ($8,500)
Kurt Busch’s salary is a little more than average, but his odds are far from being average sitting at 22-1 he is listed as a stretch to win. However, In the last five races at Darlington Kurt’s worst finish is 34th and that is due to him being involved in an accident back in 2016. The other four appearances he has averaged a fifth-place finish. So, much like Jones above him I think you need to take a chance on the elder Busch brother this Sunday. In a sport like NASCAR sometimes experience pays off.
Matt Kenseth ($7,900)
This driver wasn’t even racing when the sport went on hiatus a now few months back. However after some very unfortunate circumstances the veteran is back and he is piloting the #42 Chip Ganassi Camaro. From 2013 to 2017 Matt Kenseth had only one finish outside of the top ten at Darlington including one win as well. Now Matt was away from the track completely last year(2019) before coming back recently. So, his Vegas odds (28-1) seem to be around that range I would’ve put Matt coming into this race with so much time off. However if I’ve said it once Ill say it again experience pays off and Matt has a ton of it to bring to this team right now!
Low Ball Drivers
Tyler Reddick ($7,200)
The rookie driver for RCR was starting to perform better right before the hiatus started due to COVID-19. While I think his salary is a little high being a rookie, and low on experience I am betting on Tyler a bit this weekend due to his pure driving ability. Especially like I said there will be no practice or qualifying I feel like his background of racing gives him the ability to make the best out of the situation or race car he is handled. His odds of 100-1 are right on par with the other rookies in this year’s class. Will Tyler win this race in my honest opinion I do not think so, however a solid top ten to top fifteen finish could easily be in the books for him and his team.
Ryan Newman ($6,500)
The freaking Rocket-man is back this weekend. The last time you saw Ryan Newman on the track his future and racing career appeared to be in jeopardy. The man was laying upside down at Daytona after the conclusion of the season-opening Daytona 500. Heading into Darlington in twenty-one career starts, Ryan only has two finishes outside of the top twenty-five. Also to better on that stat, this man has only finished outside of the top twenty-five of those twenty-one starts. Ryan Newman at 125-1 is a long shot in Vegas but this man knows his way around a race track.
