Cam Akers just tore his achilles today in camp and I can’t believe it. Mad Titan here and I am going to cover this BREAKING NEWS! He was hyped up to be one the best Running Backs in football this year, even though I disagree on that, but his achilles had other plans. With him out, this opens up Darrel Henderson’s time to shine. This is obviously bad for Cam going forwards, but will Henderson be able to handle his potential new role as the #1 RB?
Statistics
COLLEGE YEARS
PLAYER | ATTEMPTS | YARDS | YPC | TD |
CAM AKERS | 586 | 2,875 | 4.9 | 27 |
DARREL HENDERSON | 431 | 3,545 | 8.2 | 36 |
2020
PLAYER | ATTEMPTS | YARDS | YPA | TD |
CAM AKERS | 145 | 625 | 4.3 | 2 |
DARREL HENDERSON | 136 | 624 | 4.5 | 5 |
As you can see above, Henderson had a much better college career than Akers, and yet, Akers got the start right off the bat. He also had a better 2020 than Akers and again, everyone is so hyped on Akers. I am not an Akers fan where he lacks the vision to be a top Running Back. Henderson on the other hang, has shown he can perform when giving the opportunity. There is no reason why Henderson couldn’t take over even when Akers is back. McVay will finally open his eyes up and see that Henderson is the better overall running back and commit to him and if he doesn’t then I hope Henderson goes somewhere else he can be respected.
Final Thoughts
It is very unfortunate for Cam Akers and his highly anticipated season, however, life happens and now Henderson will have his chance to show everyone what he is capable of and I am so excited about this. Henderson has the size, speed, and vision to be a very talented if not Elite RB in the NFL. This is obviously not the end for Akers career at only 22 years old, but it definitely sets him back a bit. I really can’t wait for this season to see what we will get from Darrel Henderson. If you didn’t have him before this, try to get him now.
I sad he hurt but in the darkest night there is always light so you kno… GO CEEDEE LAMB!
haha for all your fantasy FLEX spots lol
