I have started to break down my dynasty TE in this article. TE is an interesting position, to say the least. However, there have been dynasty leagues that are trying to promote the use of a TE in TE premium leagues. These kinds of leagues grant the position 1.25 to 2 points per reception while keeping RB and WR at a standard 1 point per reception. These first couple breakdowns may be a little dry as TE isn’t the deepest position but stay around until we get to the Top 20 which will be packed with content.

40. Jimmy Graham
I know a lot of people are scratching their heads right now wondering why Jimmy Graham is still in the league. I don’t understand either and as a Bears fan, it makes me think of what don’t I see. The only thing I can think of is using him as a zone breaker similar to Travis Kelce. But with the age, injuries, and last couple of years of underachieving. I suspect Jimmy has one maybe two years left. Graham isn’t a very important dynasty target for me unless he starts to excel in Nagy’s offense.
39. Thaddeus Moss
This kid has two things going for him: his dad is Randy Moss and he scored 2 TD in the National Championship game. Other than that, Moss doesn’t have many positive things to say about him in the receiving game. The best thing about Thaddeus’s game is his ability to block in the run game. After sitting out the last two years, Moss was ready to make a name for himself. He did some dirty work for LSU and helped Clyde Edwards-Helaire become a success. Moss is just an ordinary athlete and if you are trying to find his dad in him, you aren’t going to find it
.However, I do think there is a coach that will surely try his best to. Bill Belichick and the Patriots are sitting here at an end of a dynasty. Brady is in Tampa Bay and many of New England defensive stars left town leaving Bill at ground zero. Moss has what it takes to become a fantasy relevant TE under Belichick and will give his best in the run game. This destination feels so right for both parties and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it happen. Moss will go in the late 3rd to 4th round rookie draft and maybe a good selection to hold in dynasty formats.
38. Cameron Brate
Brate has never been able to take it the next step in his game. However, I would like to keep a close eye on him going forward with Brady in town. Yes, Brady has shown glimpses where he likes to target his TE. If O.J. Howard was to get hurt or upset Arians again in 2020, Brate could be a potential fantasy star. I think Brate can be used greatly in 2 TE sets, and be a threat in the red zone for Brady. I wouldn’t take Brate until the last rounds of dynasty drafts, and he can probably stay on the waiver wire in most leagues, but monitor Howard, if he goes done, I believe Brate is a good guy to own.
37. Albert Okwuegbunam
Albert O” ran the fastest forty times out of all TE at the combine. At 6’5″ 260, he ran an impressive 4.49 40. Albert is a playmaker that can slide into the slot and can play about any wideout/tight end position. He isn’t the best route runner and struggles to create separation with his routes. Although, he is a big threat in the red zone as in three years at Missouri he brought in 23 total TDs. With his size and speed, he will be able to make a difference in the red zone for NFL teams.
The Falcons did trade for Raven’s TE Hayden Hurst. However, I do believe they will want to add depth to their TE room. The Missouri TE would provide competition to Hurst and compete for a starting spot. With Hooper leaving, there are over hundred targets from Ryan left on the table. Albert O is a deep rookie sleeper that will most likely be available in the 5th round of dynasty rookie drafts.
36. Hunter Bryant
After watching Hunter Bryant’s film, it felt like he ran the same route for most of his college career. Yes, he did run it pretty well but his route running may be limited and Washington was smart enough to hide that. A concern I had for Bryant was his strength but after posting 23 reps of 225 at the combine, I am starting to change my mind a bit. Hunter Bryant is a poor blocker and felts more of the role of a slot receiver in my eyes. His balls skills are pretty good which is a thumbs up in my evaluation.
He will need to continue to develop his route tree. I don’t think Bryant will make a big impact in this league but may be able to grow into a roll. The Green Bay Packers may be looking to bring in a TE after Jimmy Graham left to the divisional rival, Bears. Bryant could have some dynasty value if he falls on a team that will use him correctly.
35. Kyle Rudolph
It seems like Kyle Rudolph has been in the league forever now, but the man is only thirty years old. I will say that he isn’t anything that he once was being a Top 10 reliable fantasy option. Also, the Vikings are getting to the stage where they do not want to pay him when his contract is up which leads the door open for their second TE. Irv Smith. For dynasty purposes, Rudolph holds little to none value and is rotting on someone’s bench that doesn’t realize they have him. In startups, Kyle is more than likely a late-round pick and even possibility a waiver wire pickup.
34. Foster Moreau
Foster is the next man up in Oakland once Waller is out of the equation. Moreau is a special talent and showed some glimpses of more opportunities in 2020. What some people may not realize is the age of Waller and how a single season defines a person’s value. Foster was originally supposed to be the guy before Gruden fell in love with Waller. As of right now, Foster is merely held and wait for dynasty purposes.
33. Greg Olsen
Greg Olsen is a warrior for stinking around the league. I for sure thought he was going to retire after news broke out of him leaving Carolina. But man oh man does he have the perfect fit in Seattle. Some people have counted him out in 2020, but if you could snag him in late rounds he might be worth your while. Russell Wilson loves his tight ends and made players like Will Dissly and Jacob Hollister relevant. All I am saying is Greg could end up getting 8+ TD in 2020 and people will still not put respect on his name.
32. Jace Sternberger
With Graham out of town, Sternberger should see the field a lot more in 2020. Sternberger only has three career catches to his name, but he was a 3rd round talent in 2019. If the Packers don’t bring in another TE, Sternberger should be the unquestioned Day 1 starter. My only concern is that Aaron Rodgers has never used his TE much, and after another lackluster year from Graham, I don’t see why Rodgers would want to use a TE. Sternberger is only an interest of mine because he has no competition for the starting job. I can see the Packers possibly bringing in a veteran TE like Delanie Walker, but until then, Sternberger would be a very late round dynasty target for me.
31. Kaden Smith
Kaden Smith was asked to go out and perform in his rookie year. He did show some bright spots as Evan Engram was out for most of the season with injuries. Smith and Daniel Jones found a connection, which might stem from their time in rookie camp. Engram is the #1 for the Giants but has struggled to stay healthy over the last few years. If Engram is hurt again in 2020, I can see Smith being a big part of the Giants offense. Smith is a good player to hold in dynasty and he would be worth a taxi spot in my opinion.
