Looking at the NHL Best Bet slate tonight, it was hard to narrow it down to a few games. There is a total of 14 NHL games tonight, with most of them having playoff implications. This should lead to some fantastic hockey down the stretch and into the postseason.

Carolina Hurricanes @ New York Rangers

The Carolina Hurricanes are visiting Madison Square Garden and the New York Rangers tonight in what should be a terrific game. These two teams are in a two-way race for the top of the Metropolitan division. The Canes currently sit at 102 points while the Rangers are at 100 points: both teams have nine games remaining in the regular season.

Carolina has been one of the best teams in the NHL all season. The Hurricanes have been slumping a bit by only winning three of their last seven games. Meanwhile, the Rangers have been playing well in their last nine contests as they have won seven.

I anticipate the Hurricanes to come out and play one of their best games of the season. This will start to create some space in the standings as the season winds down.

The Play: Carolina Hurricanes Money Line (-132)

New Jersey Devils @ Arizona Coyotes

This is one of those games at the end of the season featuring two bottom feeders. Both teams had a lot more to be desired this season but with injuries and inexperience, they underachieved.

The Devils have had their share of tough injuries. The team has used seven different goaltenders this season and Jack Hughes will miss 33 games by the end of the regular season.

Nico Hischier has quietly been playing really good hockey down the stretch. The captain has six points in his last five games for New Jersey. Nico Daws, who gives the Devils the best chance to win, is in line to get the start tonight between the pipes.

Even with the Devils’ significant injuries, I think they are still the better team all together. They should take care of business tonight and come out with a win.
