The Euros are Masterpiece from the Fútbol Gods

As I am writing this the Dutch are out of the Euros. They had the path given to them and it was perfect but Matthijs de Ligt‘s red card in the 55th minute was too much for them to overcome. However the play that will stick in my head was the breakaway right before for Malen. The chance was there but he could not capitalize and put the pressure fully on the Czech Republic. The Czechs were disciplined and had a great game plan to take the Dutch out of the tournament early.

This result was a massive disappointment and it will leave all of the Oranje faithful looking for someone to blame. Most fans are wondering if Frank de Boer is the man for the job after this colossal failure. I hope he is gone as the World Cup is right around the corner and the Dutch need a clear mind going into that. I have to move on but for now I am lost for words and I am frankly just disappointed. They have not been in a major tournament since 2014 and this was a big chance and they bottled it.

But hey just because the Dutch are out does not mean I need to stop betting on this tournament. There are still plenty of great matchups left and I have had a decent tournament so far betting wise. During the group stage I went 29-14-4 and had life by the balls with all my futures remaining. Now I am going to be honest. Since then I am 1-6 having lost a lot of credibility because of Wales and the Dutch.

Good Vibes Only!

No need to fear though as last time I did article picks I went 5-2 and was at my A game. Here are those article picks and a little examination of the games looking at the method to my madness! I have found some great picks for the games on Tuesday featuring England vs Germany at noon followed by Sweden vs Ukraine at 3 pm EST. I am going to give a pick on both the side and the over under for both games to give you all as many picks as possible. Time to get to work and get back on that lucky streak! England vs Germany Line and Preview

England is the slight favorite at +155 ML and Germany is at +195 ML, finally with the draw at +225. The over under is 2.25 meaning you have half of your bet at 2 and half of it at 2.5 (Asian Handicap).

England won their group with a record of 2-0-1 letting up zero goals in the process. They have both center backs playing with John Stones and Harry Maguire having the defense looking stout. On offense Raheem Sterling has stolen the show having two goals in three games. Last game we finally saw meaningful minutes for Jack Grealish with Harry Kane. Kane did not score but Grealish got a assist and the Lions did their job last game to put themselves in this good position. Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount are hopeful to play but Covid-19 health and safety Protocols could sideline them.

The Germans have been a roller coaster this tournament thus far finishing second in their group (to be fair was the group of death) going 1-1-1.  Champions League hero Kai Havertz has looked good and with Leon Goretzka back they look to be a real threat up top. The area of concern for Germany in my opinion is their defensive consistency. Yes they let up one goal to France but they let up two to Portugal and Hungary as well. Not that bad I understand but usually the defense is the anchor of a good German team so they are going to have to win with their dazzling offense.

The Pick

I really have no gut feeling on this game for a side. Both teams are strong but I do think that England will move on given their defensive efforts in the tournament thus far. I strongly believe Kane and the offense will get their chances as well but the Germans will not be taken down easily. They let up the first goal in every game thus far and have been battle tested so count on the Germans to get a goal as well and bounce back. I will take England +155 ML and over 2.25.

Sweden vs Ukraine Line and Preview

Similar to the other game Sweden is a slight favorite at +145 ML and Ukraine at +225 ML. The draw for this game is good value as well coming in at +215. The over under in this game is set at 2 making it a little lower than most games.

Ukraine has been a blast to watch coached by former super star Andriy Shevchenko. They have really taken on after their manager having a lot of swag on the pitch.  Yarmolenko has been a vital piece for the offense and Manchester City wonder boy Zinchenko has been all over the pitch guiding both offensive and defensive efforts. They finished the group stage at 1-2-0 but they were able to keep games competitive.

Sweden may have been the surprise of the tournament winning their group over Spain and going 2-0-1 in the process. Emil Forsberg has been a force for this Swedish offense having three goals in three games thus far! Their goalkeeper Robin Olsen has shown up on the International stage before helping Sweden reach the quarter finals of the last World Cup. Finally, my personal favorite player to watch for Sweden is  Isak. He has so much skill and has put teammates in great positions throughout the tournament. Sweden is no longer a dark horse in my eyes. They have entered the conversation as a legit European contender for major competitions to come.

The Pick

I really like Sweden +145ML. They have been a joy to watch all tournament and I think their experience and quality of players will give them the edge over Ukraine. I also like the over 2 goals scored. Both teams can score and I think that the number is a little low given the quality of both offenses.
