Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Week 11

Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire: Week 11 is here! I know everyone is excited about the upcoming all-star festivities this weekend. But because of the all-star weekend, this will result in a short week article. This will be part one, while part two will drop next week. Spurs players are some of the main benefactors as their team will be playing three games during that stretch.

As always, do not feel obligated to pick up anyone if you do not have room on your roster. I will be providing weekly waiver wire pickup suggestions that are mainly for nine-category leagues. The picks are based on players being rostered in less than 30-percent of fantasy basketball teams. Here are some waiver wire pickups for a short week 11.

SG Malik Monk, CHA (@POR, @MIN)

Malik Monk is a very dynamic, but streaky scorer, and right now, he’s on his hot streak. This past week, Monk has averaged 23.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3.5 three-pointers made while shooting 52-percent from the field. Monk should be a great play until Graham comes back. The Hornets only play two games this week, but Monk provides enough production to make up for that.

SG/SF Lonnie Walker, SA (BKN, NY, OKC)

Lonnie Walker gets mentioned because of opportunity. The Spurs play three games this week before the all-star break. They are also still dealing with roster issues, which would leave Lonnie Walker as another solid option. This past week, Walker has averaged 14.5 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2.5 three-pointers made. Lonnie walker should be good until more Spurs come back later this week or maybe even after the all-star weekend.

C Nerlens Noel, NY (@SA, DET)

Like Malik Monk, even though Noel only has two games this week, he can provide enough production in rebounds and blocks to warrant a pickup. Nerlens Noel has been playing a lot recently, which has resulted in better results. This past week Noel averaged 8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks while shooting 75-percent from the field. Noel is still owned in less than 30-percent of leagues and should be owned until Mitchell Robinson comes back.

C Jakob Poeltl, SA (BKN, NY, OKC)

Jakob Poeltl is still the starting center after Lamarcus Aldridge came back. this past week Poeltl has averaged 6.5 points, 10 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 blocks while shooting 50-percent from the field. The main difference between Poeltl and Noel for the week is that Poeltl plays one more extra game. I would suggest looking at Poeltl before Noel, but both are good options for the week.

C Isaiah Stewart, DET (@TOR, @NY)

This is the third Pistons rookie that I have mentioned recently. Isaiah Stewart has been very productive with his minutes. In the past three games, Stewart averaged 10.3 rebounds on only 22 minutes off the bench. If you are in need of rebounds and both Noel and Poeltl are gone, Stewart can help provide decent production in that category. This is good especially long-term if the Pistons continue to play their young guns throughout the season.
