Last Week’s Results – 300/720

Last week was very middle of the road for me in NBA Pick ‘Em Weekly Six. Sure, five of six correct matchups is pretty good, but the margins were not kind to me. Games I expected to be less competitive were more and vice versa. But onward and upwards as they say. Let’s see what this week’s picks have in store for us.

NBA Pick ‘Em Weekly Six – Warriors Over Nets by 12

With Steph the Chef Curry back on the NBA hardwood, it didn’t seem right to make my picks this week and not talk about a Warriors game. I picked this particular matchup because I was able to get some extra insight from the Belly Up Fantasy Sports’ Ballers Fantasy Basketball Showcase which held its first draft Saturday.

It’s no mystery that neither of these teams’ season went exactly as planned. One has been decimated by injury. And the other… well, I wasn’t very convinced of their chances even had Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant been available. But that’s a topic for another day and a different Belly Up site.

Mostly, my pick of the Warriors comes down to the fact that the Nets are on the road and Steph Curry is already well on his way to being his old self. The Warriors are playing quick, tough basketball. With the veteran presence of on of the best shooters to ever play the game running the point, I don’t think the Nets will have what it takes to handle the Warriors in front of their home crowd.

Bucks Over Celtics by 10

For my second breakdown in this week’s edition of NBA Pick ‘Em Weekly Six, I’m taking the Bucks over the Celtics in what some believe could be an Eastern Conference Finals matchup. I mean, not me… but some.

Don’t get me wrong, the Celtics have definitely exceeded my expectations this season. I’m the first to admit it. That said, the Bucks have won seven of their last ten games. As I’m writing this, Milwaukee has dropped two in a row. One on the road against the Lakers is understandable. The second on the road against the Suns… more concerning.

They’ll be back home when they face the Celtics after a final game on this road trip against Denver. Especially if Denver wins (which, by the way, I think they can between the altitude and it being the end of the Bucks’ trip), the Bucks will be looking to get locked back in by the time they see Boston on Thursday.
