Milwaukee Through Phoenix

I’ve got to give an honorable mention to a couple of teams here. Namely, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Phoenix Suns. Although I expect them both to improve on their win totals from the previous season (.297 and .466 respectively) in a stacked Western Conference I just can’t in good conscience recommend taking the over.

Milwaukee Bucks (Over 49.5)

I have lots to say about the Milwaukee Bucks and the fact that they’re retaining the services of Mike Budenholzer. I mean, A LOT. All of that is playoffs related though. The Bucks will still be a regular-season powerhouse in the Eastern Conference. This is an easy over for me.

New Orleans Pelicans (Over 35.5)

I know I might be going out on a bit of a limb here so take this over pick as you see fit. Watching this team play most of last season without Zion Williamson, I constantly saw a team that was better than their record. Now the players are a year older… Oh. Wait. It’s still 2020. Now the players are 70-ish days older…

Seriously though, I think the Pelicans are a team to watch this season. Is this a risky pick? You’re damn straight it is. But you’re not putting money on a team with totals without the thrill of a little risk now, are you?
