The NHL playoffs have been fantastic so far. We are only less than a week in and already have seen a few overtime games. That will be no different tonight as we enter a pivotal game 3 of the series. Every team wants to win game 3 and climb back into their series or take the massive 2-1 lead.
Let’s get into our NHL Best Bet for May 6th.
NHL Best Bet
Carolina Hurricanes @ Boston Bruins
The Carolina Hurricanes have dominated the Bruins all season long. During the regular season, the Canes swept the Bruins and outscored them by a whopping 16-1 through three games. The playoffs haven’t changed anything as the Hurricanes have cruised to a 2-0 series lead outscoring the Bruins 10-3.
Pyotr Kochetkov is in line to start for the Hurricanes. The 22-year-old entered Game 2 after Antti Raanta left due to injury and did not return. The Bruins will try to capitalize early and often as Kochetkov is making his first road playoff start. I am anticipating some growing pains early until he settles into the game.
The Bruins also have tons of playoff experience as a team. This core group of Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand have won a Stanley Cup and have been to the finals multiple times. They know how to win in the Stanley Cup playoffs when their backs are against the wall, and I look for them to do that.
I expect the Bruins to have a strong pushback tonight. They will be in front of their home crowd and comfortable in their building.
The Plays: Boston Bruins 1st Period ( -125) / Full Game Money Line (-130)
