The NHL has been just as exciting as any before and despite the obstacles the season progresses. After a few days off from best bets, we continue with a look at some of the games to consider betting on for Wednesday, January 20th. Here are some of the best bets for the NHL games today.
Oilers (+130) versus Maple Leafs
The Oilers have struggled this season. After losing consecutive games to the Montreal Canadiens, there is serious doubt about whether the Oilers are true contenders this season or not. We can expect a bounce-back game against the Maple Leafs and receive good odds in the process. As part of the first game of the mini-series, it will be interesting to see how the duo of McDavid and Draisaitl help bolster the rest of the roster. Toronto has been playing good hockey recently, but expect some struggles against an Oilers team that is built to upset.
Canucks (+105) versus Canadiens
The Canucks just suffered three straight losses to fall to 1-3 on the season. The surprise is that Vancouver was perceived as one of the better teams in the North Division and a possible sleeper team in the NHL. The Canucks should win this game with two elements of their game emerging. For starters, the defense should improve considering Quinn Hughes and Alexander Edler have been struggling early on this season. We can also expect that whoever is in goal, whether it be Braden Holtby or Thatcher Demko, will improve from the recent struggles. The Canadiens are riding a hot streak right now but this game is the ideal one to bet against them.
Golden Knights versus Coyotes Over 5.5 Goals
Vegas looks like the best team in the NHL at the moment. The offense particularly looks unstoppable with Mark Stone, Max Pacioretty, and Jonathan Marchessault leading the way. Vegas possesses a great defense and goaltending duo with Robin Lehner and Marc-Andre Fleury in the net. However, we can expect the Over to cover in this game with Vegas piling on the goals and Arizona scoring enough to help cover the spread. The Coyotes will likely fail to score as many goals on the night as the Golden Knights. Yet, we can expect 22-year-old forward Clayton Keller to find the back of the net as well as the savvy veteran Phil Kessel a few times on the night.
