QB Fantasy Football: DAWGS Or FRAUDS Week 2

Week 2 has just finished, and we will look back at the best and worst QB Fantasy Football performances of the week. Take note that we are using Sleeper’s PPR scoring system for this analysis.

Golden DAWG: Tua Tagovailoa 40.86 FP

469 Passing Yards, 6 Passing TDs, 2 Interceptions, 1 Carry, 1 Rushing Yard (Projected: 17.87 FP)

Tua celebrating after a play

Tua Tagovailoa just had his breakthrough game. Down 35-14 entering the fourth quarter, Tua erupted and threw 4 TDs to lead the Dolphins to a 42-38 win. Tua had 469 passing yards and 6 TDs. With Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, Tua looks more comfortable. They have a massive game against the Bills in Week 3.

Silver DAWG: Lamar Jackson 42.60 FP

18 Passing Yards, 3 Passing TDs, 9 Carries, 119 Rushing Yards, 1 Rushing TD (Projected: 22.61 FP)

Lamar Jackson attempting to throw a pass

Lamar Jackson looked unstoppable in his duel against the Dolphins and Tua Tagovailoa. He completed 21 of 29 passes for 318 passing yards and three TDs. He had 119 rushing yards; where the majority came from a 79-yard rushing TD. His performance this week made him the best fantasy football QB in Week 2. Expect more great things for Lamar throughout the season.

Bronze DAWG: Jimmy Garoppolo 16.66 FP

154 Passing Yards, 1 Passing TD, 4 Carries, 5 Rushing Yards, 1 Rushing TD (Projected: 0 FP)

Jimmy G celebrating with teammates

Jimmy Garoppolo is back! After Trey Lance exited with a season-ending injury, Jimmy G came out and delivered. He looked like his usual self, where he controlled the offense and led the 49ers to a win with a passing and rushing TD. The 49ers looked better with Jimmy G back, so let’s see if he can lead them to more victories, especially with the number of injuries on the team.

Golden FRAUD: Matt Ryan 4.80 FP

195 Passing Yards, 3 Interceptions (Projected: 18 FP)

Matt Ryan is being pressured by Jaguars’ defenders

Matt Ryan had an unforgettable Week 2 against the Jaguars. Also, Matt looked lost against the swarming Jaguars’ defense without Michael Pittman Jr. and Alec Pierce. He has looked old at the start of the season as he has only one TD to four interceptions.

Silver FRAUD: Ryan Tannehill 2.88 FP

117 Passing Yards, 2 Interceptions, 1 Carry, 2 Rushing Yards (Projected: 15.70 FP)

Ryan Tannehill looks lost

Ryan Tannehill looked good in the opening drive, which led to a Derrick Henry TD. After that, the Bills’ defense was too much for Tannehill. He completed 11 of 20 passes for 117 passing yards and couldn’t get into a rhythm because of the constant pressure by Buffalo. After a pick-6 that made it a 34-point lead, Tannehill was benched for Malik Willis. There might be a new QB in fantasy to check up on if Tannehill continues to struggle.

Bronze FRAUD: Russell Wilson 12.06 FP

219 Passing Yards, 1 Passing TD, 1 Interception, 2 Carries, 3 Rushing Yards (Projected: 22.12 FP)

Russell Wilson talking to Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett

Russell Wilson got his first win as a Bronco when they defeated the Texans in Week 2. The concerning thing is that he didn’t look good against a team that isn’t projected to do well. Russ went 14 for 31 and lost one of his weapons in Jerry Jeudy. Nathaniel Hackett and Russ need to gain that chemistry, especially if they want to become a playoff team in the AFC.
