QB Fantasy Football: DAWGS Or FRAUDS Week 8

Week 8 has just finished, and we will look back at the best and worst QB Fantasy Football pNotees of the week. Take note that we are using Sleeper’s PPR scoring system for this analysis.

Golden DAWG: Justin Fields 26.04 FP

151 Passing Yards, 2 Passing TDs, 8 Carries, 60 Rushing Yards, 1 Rushing TD (Projected: 14.67 FP)

Justin Fields was responsible for 3 TDs against the Cowboys in Week 8

Justin Fields continued his impressive play against a top defense in Dallas. He passed for 151 yards and two TDs and ran for 60 yards and a TD. He is the first QB this year to be responsible for three TDs against Dallas after 8 weeks of football. His rushing ability makes him a special player to own in fantasy football. Look for him to continue his hot streak against the Miami Dolphins.

Silver DAWG: Tua Tagovailoa 29.18 FP

382 Passing Yards, 3 Passing TDs, 5 Carries, 19 Rushing Yards (Projected: 20.31 FP)

Tua and the Miami offense may have the best trio in football

Tua Tagovailoa torched the Detroit defense for 29 points, the most for a QB in Week 8. He threw for 382 yards and three TDs, primarily to Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. The trio has looked amazing this year and is close to unbeatable because of their talent. They have a matchup with the Bears in Week 8.

Bronze DAWG: Marcus Mariota 24.42 FP

253 Passing Yards, 3 Passing TDs, 2 Interceptions, 6 Carries, 43 Rushing Yards (Projected: 15.81 FP)

Marcus Mariota and the Falcons are the division leaders as of Week 8

Marcus Mariota had his best passing game of the year in the Falcons’ win over the Panthers. The Falcons QB threw for 253 passing yards and three TDs. He had been limited to less than 150 passing yards the past four games so this game was promising at least. Mariota faces the Chargers’ defense in Week 9.

Golden FRAUD: Derek Carr 2.94 FP

101 Passing Yards, 1 Interception, 1 Carry, -1 Rushing Yard (Projected: 18.03 FP)

Derek Carr couldn’t muster anything with the football against the Saints

Derek Carr had his worst game of the year when the Raiders lost 24-0 to the Saints. Carr threw for just 101 yards and had an interception. With their playoff chances slowly fading after playing 8 weeks of football, Las Vegas may think if they should consider getting a QB in next year’s draft.

Silver FRAUD: Malik Willis 2.40 FP

55 Passing Yards, 1 Interception, 5 Carries, 12 Rushing Yards (Projected: 14.82 FP)

Malik Willis just did enough to lead the Titans to victory

Malik Willis did just enough to lead the Titans to victory over the Texans. The running game was the focus so Willis just had to hand over the ball majority of the time. He only threw for 55 yards because of this game plan. If Ryan Tannehill isn’t ready for Week 9, Malik will face the Chiefs.

Bronze FRAUD: Daniel Jones 9.04 FP

176 Passing Yards, 6 Carries, 20 Rushing Yards (Projected: 17.41 FP)

Daniel Jones had a difficult time against the Seahawks’ defense

Daniel Jones couldn’t do anything against the Seahawks’ defense in the Giants’ loss in Week 8. Seattle was able to cover his running game as Jones only rushed for 20 yards. He also threw for less than 200 yards. As much as the Giants have looked good, Daniel Jones doesn’t throw a lot of yards so he has to rely on his running game to get those points in fantasy.
