Fantasy Football

Seahawks Projections:

Seattle, where everyone is sleepless. And where it rains, a whole lot. The Seahawks are heading into 2020 with a lot of offensive weapons. In case you missed it, we just covered the Los Angeles Rams. Now, lets finish up this series with Seattle, a team I want a whole lot of exposure to in 2020.

QB:

2 plus 1 equals 3. That’s Wilson’s number. That’s also where I am rankings him among QBs. Crazy, huh?

Russell Wilson: Passing: 350/522-4,313, 32 TD: 6 INT
Rushing: 71-369-3 TD: 7 FMBL
Standard: 342.42 (3)
0.5 PPR: 342.42 (3)
1 PPR: 342.42 (3)

Geno Smith: Passing: 57.7 career completion percentage. 29:36 TD: INT ratio. He should stop passing.
Rushing: He is ok at this, but overall he’s not good in general.

Wilson is elite. He is safe as hell, and his ceiling as magnificent. The Seahawks offense is gonna score a whole lot, and Wilson is gonna be involved heavily in that scoring. He has been over 30 passing TDs for three straight years, and 4 of the last 5. He also adds a rushing dimension that is just outside the elite tier of rushing QBs. Let’s call it good not great. But those two factors make me view Russ as a safe and surefire QB1. I want exposure. And he carries minimal risk. Wilson has never missed a game. Take him, and enjoy not worrying about QB.

Do not take Geno as the handcuff. He is not good, and the Seahawks crater if Wilson misses time.

RB:

Carson is pretty much a beast. I like him more than most, and recommend getting on this train. Like Arizona’s defender.

Chris Carson: Rushing: 259-1,159-8 TD: 5 FMBL
Receiving: 51 targets, 40 catches, 336 Yds, 3 TD
Standard: 210.5 (12)
0.5 PPR: 230.5 (12)
1 PPR: 250.5 (14)

Rashaad Penny: Rushing: 67-359-3 TD: 1 FMBL
Receiving: 16 targets, 12 catches, 93 Yds, 1 TD
Standard: 68.2 (55)
0.5 PPR: 74.2 (56)
1 PPR: 80.2 (60)

Carlos Hyde: Rushing: 69-288-2 TD: 1 FMBL
Receiving: 14 targets, 10 catches, 51 Yds
Standard: 44.9 (68)
0.5 PPR: 49.9 (67)
1 PPR: 54.9 (67)

Deejay Dallas: Rushing: 9-49
Receiving: 5 targets, 3 catches, 24 Yds,
Standard: 7.3 (100)
0.5 PPR: 8.8 (102)
1 PPR: 10.3 (101)

Carson has this injury rep, but he has only missed 3 games in the last 2 years. For RBs, that is not a lot. He averages 9 total TDs and 1,405 total Yds per season. Sign me up for that, please. He is still the go-to guy for the Seahawks, and 2020 should be more of the same. He has RB1 upside and is an elite RB2 option. If you have him as an RB3, enjoy your title.

Hyde will be useful early before Penny returns. I have Penny playing 9 weeks, but if you need RB help the first 7 weeks, Hyde might be your guy. Hyde, and later Penny, are serviceable flex options. Penny even more than Hyde. I absolutely love acquiring Penny late, so he is available for you during fantasy Playoffs. If Carson is hurt, Penny flirts with RB1 status.

WR:

Metcalf and Lockett are awesome. The Seahawks have two WR1s. Draft them both!

D.K. Metcalf: Rushing: 3-13, 2 FMBL
Receiving: 105 targets, 64 catches, 1,021 Yds, 10 TD
Standard: 161.4 (13)
0.5 PPR: 193.4 (15)
1 PPR: 225.4 (16)

Tyler Lockett: Rushing: 5-24, 1 FMBL
Receiving: 110 targets, 79 catches, 1,089 Yds, 6 TD
Standard: 146.3 (18)
0.5 PPR: 185.8 (18)
1 PPR: 225.3 (17)

Phillip Dorsett: Rushing: 1-6
Receiving: 39 targets, 23 catches, 299 Yds, 3 TD
Standard: 48.5 (95)
0.5 PPR: 60 (96)
1 PPR: 71.5 (97)

David Moore: Rushing: 1-4
Receiving: 16 targets, 9 catches, 156 Yds, 1 TD
Standard: 22 (118)
0.5 PPR: 26.5 (121)
1 PPR: 31 (124)

Oh boy, gimme both of these WRs. Metcalf is going to be flirting with elite. and Lockett could be elite too. Both have WR1 upside and WR2 floors. I am targeting both of them in 2020, in all formats. Pairing them would be amazing. Metcalf had an excellent rookie season, and Lockett has had two straight strong years. Wilson is entering his second year with both of these studs, and the passing attack will be fun with these two.

I am not interested in any other WRs on this team. Combine the Seahawks excellence on the ground, with their plethora of able tight ends, and two elite WR1s, and you get a recipe for not much production from the other WRs. Simple math.

TE:

Lately it feels like Olsen is on the field in beanies more than helmets.

Greg Olsen: Receiving: 71 targets, 47 catches, 521 Yds, 3 TD
Standard: 70.1 (25)
0.5 PPR: 93.6 (23)
1 PPR: 117.1 (21)

Will Dissly: Receiving: 51 targets, 36 catches, 447 Yds, 3 TD: 1 FMBL
Standard: 61.7 (28)
0.5 PPR: 79.7 (28)
1 PPR: 97.7 (28)

Jacob Hollister: Receiving: 39 targets, 24 catches, 238 Yds, 2 TD
Standard: 35.8 (43)
0.5 PPR: 47.8 (43)
1 PPR: 59.8 (42)

Colby Parkinson: Receiving: 5 targets, 3 catches, 38 Yds
Standard: 3.8 (80)
0.5 PPR: 5.3 (80)
1 PPR: 6.8 (80)

This is a deep Seahawks TE group. Olsen is the de facto starter, but the common theme among the top three is health concerns. TE will be a featured aspect of this passing attack, If Olsen stays healthy, he could have a monstrous year. If he doesn’t look for huge weeks from Dissly and or Hollister. But health is a major concern here. All three have issues with it. Which is why I really like Parkinson in dynasty formats.

I approach this TE group two ways. If I am in a league with a lot of bench options, I want exposure to one of these guys for the spot-start potential. If I do not have a lot of bench space, I avoid because they lack the consistency I look for at TE and I am high on plenty of other guys. But the Seahawks TEs as a whole will be a fantastic unit. Good luck knowing who is gonna be healthy every week.

I project the Seahawks to score 1,397.92 points in 0.5 PPR formats, which is 4th. There are elite options at every position. I know TE is a stretch but if you combine the TE stats at the end of the year, the Seahawks TE group will be elite. Seattle is a team I want, and have, tons of exposure to, especially Carson who continues to be criminally undervalued. But Wilson, Metcalf, Lockett, and even Penny are all excellent values.
