Sell High: CeeDee Lamb

I find no joy in writing this article as a Cowboys fan. However, the valuation of CeeDee Lamb in dynasty circles is crazy. Here are some reasons why you should sell high on him if you have him in dynasty.

WR3?!?!

I’ve seen many rank CeeDee Lamb as the WR3 behind Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase. To me, that’s crazy. Let’s look at his past performances in half-PPR formats:

  • 2020: WR20 (WR31 per-game with 11.3)
  • 2021: WR18 (WR24 per-game with 12.1)

How do people look at those numbers and see him as a top-three fantasy WR? Even in real life, you can look him up on Player Profiler and see that one of his best categories is drops. And no, that’s not a good thing.

I think people are overrating his talent, overvaluing his age, and expecting Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup to both be gone this year with no one to replace them but Cedric Wilson. Who ranks players based on made-up dream scenarios? That’s like rating a college WR as top-12 because you picture them in ideal scenarios.

Wrap-Up

Of course, every league is different and you may not be able to sell high on him in yours. However, I think it would be good to put out feelers to see what you can get for him. Try to find that manager who ranks CeeDee Lamb as a top five dynasty WR and milk them for it.
