Switching It Up
Welcome back to another Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em for Week 7. Usually, we go through each position group and tell you who to sit and who to start, but this week we will switch it up a bit. We have been getting many questions asked on our TikTok and Instagram pages (@theeyetestpod), so we figured we would list your questions here and answer them in more detail. If you do not follow us on TikTok or Instagram, you can click the links above and do so. Feel free to ask us any questions, especially on who to sit or start.
Question #1
Who Do I Start? Brock Purdy or Jordan Love?

However, if it’s something I learned while watching football this year, you start any player that’s going against the Broncos (unless your name is Patrick Mahomes who can’t break 20 points). Jordan Love is the play here. Purdy can sit on your bench for Week 7. Also, do you really want to drive yourself crazy trying to choose who to sit or start between these two? I recommend trading one of them.
Question #2
Jahmyr Gibbs or Craig Reynolds?

Whoever you plan to start, just know you shouldn’t be expecting much out of either. If I had to pick one, I would pick Gibbs simply because of the upside he’s shown so far in regard to rushing yards. Last week against the Bucs, Reynolds ran the ball 10 times for 15 yards. Gibbs has at least shown he can break free and hit a home run. Don’t be excited, but if you’re looking for who to sit or start between the pair of running backs in Detroit, lean toward Gibbs.
Question #3
Who Do I Start at Flex? Tyler Lockett or Rashee Rice?
Embed from Getty ImagesThis is an easy one for me. Lockett’s upside is way more appealing than Rice’s. Sure, Rashee Rice has looked better than we all assumed he would, averaging 12 fantasy points over the last two weeks. However, Tyler Lockett’s upside is just too nice to pass up. And although Lockett can let you down by scoring three points like he did in Week 1, he can also score 26 like he did in Week 2. Start Tyler Lockett, as he goes against an Arizona defense that has given up the fifth most fantasy points to Wide Receivers. Rashee Rice may be the “safe” answer here, but you can’t win your fantasy football league by being safe.
Question #4
Sit or Start Rest of Season? Devonta Smith or Tee Higgins?
Embed from Getty ImagesBoth of these guys are not getting the production you expected before your fantasy football draft. However, one is doing much better than the other this year, so go with DeVonta Smith. The Eagles-Dolphins game is going to be an absolute shootout, and Smith has been getting some solid volume even though he isn’t doing much with it. He’s due for a bounce-back week. Higgins is on a team dealing with a struggling Joe Burrow, the QB23 on the year, and has not been getting the volume DeVonta has since Ja’Marr Chase has started to warm up. Obviously, since the Bengals have a bye, Smith is a lock for Week 7, but even for the rest of the season, I would go with Devonta Smith. The only way Higgins should start over him is if Ja’Marr Chase gets injured.
