Who do I start and who do I sit? Ah yes, the age-old question in fantasy football. Well, you should start your studs and sit those who may lay an egg for your team any given week. The goal in fantasy football is obviously to start the right players. Players who can put up big numbers for a combined point total to beat your league-mates.
***DISCLAIMER: When I say “sit em'” for a particular player, that doesn’t mean you are actually going to bench them unless I explicitly tell you to do so. Rather, it means to simply temper expectations as I predict that they are not going to score more points than they are projected to on the Sleeper app.
Justin Fields
I predict that Justin Fields will outscore his projection of 17.39 FPTS against the Packers.
The Bears are coming into this game as the ten-point underdogs. What does this mean for fantasy purposes? Well, this means that the Bears will likely be playing from behind for a good chunk of the game. It means that they will also have to throw more. Can they get it done through the air with the lacking WR core that they have? Well, they did just fine in the rain and mud against a really talented 49ers defense.
Plus, Fields has a great rushing upside and is going up against the Packers’ terrible “rushing QB defense.” I mean, Tyler Huntley scored 35 FPTS against the Packers last season. Is the Packers’ defense really as powerful as it seemed like they were in training camp reports? We will find out.
Najee Harris
I predict that Najee Harris will not outscore his projection of 12.5 FPTS.
Dealing with his nagging Lisfranc injury and ankle injury I do not see Harris playing at 100% for a while. Add in that he won’t be getting as many dump-off passes and could struggle to gain yards with the Steelers’ lackluster O-Line and it could be a recipe for disaster. Did I mention he is going up against the stout Bills defense who let up <50 rushing yards against two Rams RBs? Temper your expectations heavily for Harris this week.
D.J. Moore
I predict that D.J. Moore will not outscore his projection of 13.0 FPTS.
Week 1 for the Panthers was interesting. Not only did they lose the game, but we also learned a lot about their offense. Is Moore truly the WR1 on the team? Baker Mayfield sure liked throwing to Robbie Anderson. Will we ever get a WR1 season from Moore? It currently is not off to a good start, so temper expectations.
Darren Waller
I am predicting that Darren Waller will outscore his projection of 13.4 FPTS.
Although Davante Adams is in town, Derek Carr still likes to throw Wallers’ way. In what should be a fun and high-scoring game, expect a lot of passes. The Cardinals’ defense when guarding TEs is one of the worst in the NFL and Waller has exposed them before. Expect him to do it again on Sunday.
