Who do I start and who do I sit? Ah yes, the age-old question in fantasy football. Well, you should start your studs and sit those who may lay an egg for your team any given week. The goal in fantasy football is obviously to start the right players. Players who can put up big numbers for a combined point total to beat your league-mates and to try and avoid the inevitable dud performance which can always be hard to predict.
***DISCLAIMER: When I say “sit em’” for a particular player, that doesn’t mean you are actually going to bench them unless I explicitly tell you to do so. Rather, it means to simply temper expectations as I predict that they are not going to score more points than they are projected to on the Sleeper app.
Josh Allen
I predict that Josh Allen will outscore his projection of 24.56 FPTS.
Not only is Allen one of the best QBs in the NFL, but he also can put up huge fantasy numbers in big-time games. This game against the Ravens is going to be quite huge for both teams. It is projected to be the highest-scoring game on the Sunday slate as each team is set to score between 25 and 28 points. Allen has thrown for at least two TDs in every game so far and hasn’t scored below 23.7 FPTS. This is the easiest smash bet of the week. High scoring, great action, and two of the great young QBs facing off. Wheels up. I predict a rushing TD from Allen and at least 2 TDs through the air.
Jamaal Williams
I predict that Jamaal Williams will outscore his projection of 14.5 FPTS.
Williams has played an integral part in the Lions’ offense so far this season. He has had at least 10 carries in each of the first three games and has scored two TDs in weeks 1 & 3. He has great hands and can do a lot in the receiving game, but for whatever reason, Jared Goff just doesn’t throw it to him much when he is on the field. With D’Andre Swift out this Sunday, I think that changes finally. Williams will easily see over three targets, two receptions, and 16 receiving yards. The Lions are facing the pretty porous rush defense that Seattle has and I think Williams can expose them. I predict a TD as well as the guaranteed receiving stats.
Curtis Samuel
I predict that Curtis Samuel will outscore his projection of 12.9 FPTS.
Samuel has been Carson Wentz‘s favorite target so far this season, yes even over Terry McLaurin. So far this season, Samuel has seen nine or more targets in each game. Another crazy stat is that he has a 73% catch rate. Samuel has been extremely efficient and has produced way more than anyone thought he would. Another key point is that he has stayed healthy. The Commanders are facing off against the Cowboys and will likely have McLaurin covered for quite well, leaving Samuel open for a lot of targets. I’m going to go bold here and even predict a rushing TD for the once Panthers rushing stud.
Pat Freiermuth
I predict that Pat Freiermuth will not outscore his projection of 9.8 FPTS.
Over the first three games of the season Freiermuth’s snap %, target share, and receptions have been trending southward. Not good for a young TE who wants to continue to break out. In last week’s game against the Browns, he did not see a target until the 4th quarter with less than six minutes left and the offense was in hurry-up mode to try and score. Not ideal, and now the Steelers are facing the Jets who actually have really solid coverage against opposing TEs.
