There are three weeks left in pretty much all fantasy football leagues are in their playoffs now. The thing with these playoff weeks is that they are regular season weeks for NFL teams, meaning they are not as important. Add in the fact that some teams may be able to clinch their spot in the standings and that can make some games even less important. This can make certain players sit risks. Based on current standings, here are some teams to avoid in the 2022 fantasy championships.
Week 17
There aren’t many teams that can clinch their spot two weeks before the playoffs, but some can. The Eagles could clinch the conference next week. If so, the Vikings and 49ers who have already clinched their division, won’t have as much to play for. Also, the Cowboys would also be locked into a wildcard spot. These 4 teams might have very little incentive to risk injury to their starters next week. You can also keep an eye out for eliminated teams. Right now, the Houston Texans, Chicago Bears, Arizona Cardinals, and Denver Broncos are out. Furthermore, a few more will be eliminated next week. You can keep an eye out for this using the NFL Playoff Picture here.Week 18
By week 18, many more situations will be firmed up. Things are a lot more competitive in the AFC, but in the NFC, the picture could become more clear by then. Many more teams will also be eliminated by then. In those situations, players with injury risks may be rested to avoid further injuries.Wrap Up
Context is key. Keep an eye out for teams who may have little to play for. These teams could end up resting slightly injured players or studs to protect them in the last few days before the regular season. Hopefully, this gave you a good idea for teams to avoid in the 2022 fantasy championships.
