Top-12 Fantasy Quarterbacks

Having a top fantasy quarterback is an asset that most will underestimate. Most people like to wait to draft a QB because there is always value in later rounds. It is hard to choose a quarterback so early because there are so many great options. The NFL is so talented nowadays, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone I don’t mention sneaks into the top five. With all the talent surrounding these quarterbacks any of them could go out and throw the most touchdowns, but here are my personal top-12 fantasy quarterbacks ahead of the 2021 Season.

#1 Josh Allen

After a near-perfect season for Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs, I am confident that Allen will remain the number one QB option in 2021. According to Emmanuel Sanders, Josh Allen can make throws that no other quarterback can. And that’s coming from him after he played with Peyton Manning.

#2 Kyler Murray

If it weren’t for a rough second half of the 2020 season Kyler would have run away with the MVP in my opinion. I think he is in a position to make a run at the award this year. The Cardinals only got better over the off-season with the additions of AJ Green and rookie Rondale Moore.

#3 Dak Prescott

After a brutal injury Dak‘s season was cut short last year. He was on pace to break all sorts of records. I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt, even with all that is going on during this pre-season. I believe Dak can have a great year and put his team in position to make a deep playoff run.

#4 Aaron Rodgers

Coming off his MVP season, I think Aaron will pick up right where he left off. However, I do not think Davante Adams can possibly play any better. There may be a slight regression from the both of them while getting a boost in the running game with AJ Dillon taking on more carries.

#5 Patrick Mahomes

Mahomes has solidified himself as an elite quarterback and has earned his spot on this list for a long time. However, I think he is due for a bit of struggle. Nobody’s perfect, and he’s been just that so far in his career. I also think Clyde Edwards-Helaire will see the end-zone more often.

#6 Russell Wilson

Russ was playing the best football of his career last year, and so were his receivers in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. I think Russ is going to have another touchdown-filled year. Last season he finished with 40-touchdowns.

#7 Tom Brady

I couldn’t decide on a spot for Tommy, but we all know he has earned it. I decided to go with #7 to honor his latest super-bowl victory. I think the Bucs are going to win it again and I think Brady is going to make it look easy.

#8 Justin Herbert

Justin Herbert had one of the better rookie seasons in recent history. The combination of his arm strength and ball placement is unmatched. With a Hall of Fame-worthy wide receiver by his side, I don’t see anything stopping Herbie from cracking the top ten.

#9 Jalen Hurts

Hurts is a player with a boatload of upside. He has the legs and arm, which we know is a deadly combination for any fantasy QB. Depending on how well DeVonta Smith plays this season I think hurts has a great chance at being the #9 ranked fantasy quarterback.

#10 Ryan Tannehill

The only reason I am not higher on Ryan Tannehill is because of the man standing behind him. Derrick Henry is going to be in position for another 2,000-yard season. If Henry weren’t on the team Tannehill would have a lot more upside in my opinion. He has fewer throws to make with the King taking it 90 yards to house every other game.

#11 Lamar Jackson

It is hard to put Lamar behind all of these quarterbacks after the MVP season. He is, on most days, clearly the most talented player on the field. They went out and got him some receivers in the draft but they are already dealing with some injuries. He is going to need help around him throughout the season to be one of the more elite QB’s.

#12 Joe Burrow

Burrow is one of the players that I think could sneak into the top five. He’s got all the weapons around him and should be throwing the ball very often. He had a killer rookie season before being injured at the knee. He may possibly miss a game or two and that matters when projecting yearly stats. All in all, he should be a great fantasy option for years to come.

That concludes my top-12 quarterbacks, let me know what you think in the comments. Follow us at @BellyUpSports or follow me @JoelFlawless for more.
