Week 1 QB Streamer

Every week from now on out, I’ll try to put out an article on which QB to consider streaming. I’ll give one to two suggestions every week for a QB streamer. Using Yahoo numbers, I’ll choose from QBs under the 50 percent rostered mark. However, I may reach a bit higher if it’s close. Such QBs should be widely available in most 10-12 team leagues.

If you’re not familiar with the term, “streaming” is a strategy where players are constantly being swapped in and out of your lineup weekly rather than being used over and over again. This is a strategy most often used for QBs, TEs, DSTs, and Ks. The reason is that in most leagues, you only ever need to start one per week and the low-end starters often are in a similar tier to the free agents. Matchups can also play a large role so you may want to pick up players with easier competition.

Sam Darnold

Sam Darnold – USA Today

Rostered in only 14 percent of leagues, Sam Darnold should be a solid streamer this week as he plays a revenge game against the New York Jets. Not only are they relatively easy competition, but he is also intimately familiar with the players. Furthermore, he has amazing weapons available to him. Christian McCaffrey can turn a two-yard dump-off into a 40-yard touchdown run and D.J. Moore and Robby Anderson (who he has played with before) have proven to be great receiving options as well.

Wrap-Up

Maybe you drafted a QB later and are worried about Herbert against the Washington defence or Stafford with a new offence against the Chicago defence. If so, Darnold could be someone to look at as a QB streamer option with a lot of upside this week.
