Week 13 Belly Up Bowl Update

Welcome to the Belly Up Bowl Week 13 Update! For the third consecutive season, Belly Up Fantasy Sports is proud to host the Belly Up Bowl fantasy tournament to raise money for charity. And for the second year in a row, we’re partnering with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. This year, 72 teams across six leagues are vying for the trophy, a bit of prize money, and the right to call themselves the 2022 Belly Up Bowl champion. Each week from now until the championship game, we’ll update you on who’s hot and who’s not in each league, including notes on league standings and the top five overall ranking. Remember, this is a “Best Ball” format, and overall scoring is just as important as win-loss record.

Each Belly Up Bowl league is named after a real Alex’s Lemonade Stand Childhood Cancer Hero. We’ve linked to each of their stories in their league’s review, so we can keep in perspective why we’re all here. A reminder that in addition to the money we’re donating raised from players’ league entry fees, you can always donate directly to Alex’s Lemonade Stand. You can also check out the many other ways to help, either by utilizing one of the additional methods of giving, or by getting involved directly.

The season is rapidly approaching its end. Unfortunately for those who need a win this upcoming week, there are six teams on the bye. Here’s where things stand in the Belly Up Bowl Week 13 update.

Scoring Format

Belly Up Bowl Week 13 Update: League Amara

League Amara was the only league in the Belly Up Bowl to see a change atop the standings after Week 13. Team PapaDragon2005 returned to the top spot after a three-week reign by Team HighLowSports, who dropped to second. The two titans will clash this week for first place. Team PapaDragon2005 also leads the league in points scored, and is second in the entire Bowl. Team HighLowSports is third in Amara, tenth overall. Second-leading league scorer Team JordanJames remains in third place in the standings. Team CommishCooper is the hottest team in League Amara at the moment, however. In addition to riding a five game winning streak, Team CommishCooper garnered the highest score of any Belly Up Bowl league team this week, posting a cool 224.40. On the other hand, Team 4WhomJBellTolls is on a four game slide.

High Riser: Team tjsumpter55 (+2)

Fast Fallers: Team HighLowSports, Team 4WhomJBellTolls, Team GREGGELS17 (-1)

High Score of the Week: Team CommishCooper (224.40)

Belly Up Bowl Week 13 Update: League Heather

Blue Chase Stuffed Olaves rode the highest score of Week 13 in their league to the top of the scoring charts overall in League Heather. Former lead scorer Team 18n1CallMeGreat had a miserable week, putting up their lowest point total of the season in a loss to Team BellyUpMike. That allowed Team epurdue21 to leapfrog them for second place in the league scoring ranks. Team RyanMinerFFB continues to lead the league standings, despite being the lowest-scoring league leader in the Bowl. The CHAMP is here! kept pace with their win, and now sits just 6.36 points out of first.

Further down the standings, @ShanePHALLAM finds themselves in seventh place despite a 7-6 record. They are one of just two teams with winning records to find themselves in the bottom half of a league. @ShanePHALLAM is also the lowest-scoring team in the Bowl with a record above .500. Belly Up Adam still find themselves in last place and tied for the worst Belly Up Bowl record at 2-11. The silver lining there is that Belly Up Adam snapped an 11 game losing streak with their win over Team Loafinit. League Heather maintains their status as the Belly Up Bowl league with the most total points.

High Risers: The CHAMP is here!, Blue Chase Stuffed Olaves, Team epurdue21, @ShanePHALLAM, Team BellyUpMike (+1)

Fast Fallers: Team 18n1CallMeGreat, Team aerickson (-2)

High Score of the Week: Blue Chase Stuffed Olaves (222.66)

Belly Up Bowl Week 13 Update: League Landon

A bit of shuffling lower in the standings couldn’t shake Team sportsfansc. Although Team venomsoldier01 was able to win and rise to second place, Team sportsfansc would have the biggest score of the week in League Landon. This allowed them to overtake Team venomsoldier01 in the scoring race. Team venomsoldier01 now trails Team sportsfansc by one game in the standings and just 8.02 points. Team Drewdelaware won their seventh in a row, tied for the hottest streak across any league. That allowed them to move up to third place, as Team PickleRiot66 took a hard-luck loss as the highest-scoring team to lose in Landon in the Belly Up Bowl Week 13 slate.

League Landon continues to be the closest league in this year’s contest. Just 297.70 points separate the top- and bottom-scoring teams. Besides the tight scoring race at the top of the standings, the “lesser” teams in Landon are no easy outs. Team GenesisFantasyCards has the fewest points in in League Landon, but more than any other league’s lowest scorer. In fact, Team GenesisFantasyCards has more points than four teams in League Heather, four teams in League Preslie, three teams in League Mary, and two League Amara squads. LAMBardi, meanwhile, is the highest-scoring last place team in the Bowl, ranking 40th out of 72 teams. Saint Bonifas was the only team in any league to climb their way out of last place last week. Saint Bonifas rose to tenth place after a narrow win over Team rrummel90 and losses by Team Rindo and LAMBardi.

High Risers: Bluealgae, Saint Bonifas (+2)

Fast Fallers: Team PickleRiot66, Team Rindo (-2)

High Score of the Week: Team sportsfansc (191.02)

Belly Up Bowl Week 13 Update: League Leevi

The rich got richer in League Leevi, as overall Bowl top scorer Team BuckeyeFan91 and league second-place UrbanKickedHim took advantage of a slip-up by Team CaptainLou65 to open up some breathing room at the summit of the League Leevi standings. Team BuckeyeFan91’s 11-2 record is the second-best in the tournament, while UrbanKickedHim at 10-3 is one of just seven Bowl teams with double-digit wins. The unfortunate opponent for Team BuckeyeFan91 was Team SpaceMonkeysInc. Team SpaceMonkeysInc scored 185.10 points, third most in the league, but only good for a 1.28-point loss. Their similarly simian-related-named rivals Monkey Fighting Snakes had the league’s high score with 197.60 points.

Team KANGASMAN91 has lost a Bowl-high seven games in a row, and now find themselves tied with League Heather’s Belly Up Adam for the Bowl’s worst record at 2-11. Team PluckyBeans are one of three teams with a 6-7 record in the Belly Up Bowl to find themselves in the top half of their league. An interesting note on League Leevi: Team ktompkinsii is the only team in the league with fewer than 2,000 points.

High Risers: Wil Sea, Team BellyUpMike, Monkey Fighting Snakes (+1)

Fast Faller: Team PluckyBeans, Team ktompkinsii, Team SpaceMonkeysInc (-1)

High Score of the Week: Monkey Fighting Snakes (197.60)

Belly Up Bowl Week 13 Update: League Mary

The same ol’ patterns prevailed in League Mary this week. @EmPoweredFF and Team sugarfreemocha put up two of the highest scores in the league to maintain their first and second place standing in both scoring and the league standings. Team BellyUpKev was able to cling to third place in the standings, but by the narrowest of margins. KZfromPressBox had their souls crushed, losing to Team BellyUpKev by only .06 points to drop their seventh straight game. Team GoingFor2DotCom’s fortunes were the opposite, as they won their fourth in a row. Their victory over Team FFReserve allowed Team GoingFor2DotCom to move ahead of Team FFReserve in the standings. Purple Pride would score the highest tally in League Mary this week, but wouldn’t need it. Their opponents, Team All22FantasyGM, put up the lowest point total in League Mary for the week.

High Risers: Team BellyUpKev, Team GoingFor2DotCom, Team AndrewLeduc-BellyUpSports, Purple Pride (+1)

Fast Fallers: Team thebeav1228, Team FFReserve, Team All22FantasyGM, Team blainebellyupsports (-1)

High Score of the Week: Purple Pride (192.70)

Belly Up Bowl Week 13 Update: League Preslie

Not much changed in League Preslie in Week 13. Team thorhalla and Team rusj75 won again. Team shawn8386 and Team ShaneSays lost again. And the standings remained static, by-and-large. Team thorhalla have now won six in a row and own the Belly Up Bowl’s best record at 12-1. Team rusj75 trails Team thorhalla by four games in the standings, but have won a Bowl-best seven straight games. While neither team broke the scoreboard this week, Team rusj75 was able to close their already-narrow gap somewhat, and now trail Team thorhalla in the scoring race by just 4.58 points.

Team DirrtyHarry5 and Team crewser128 both leapt three spots in the standings up to fourth and fifth, respectively. Team injuredlistpod lost their fourth straight, while Team shawn8386 lost their fifth in a row. The lowest total point tally in the Bowl continues to belong to Team ShaneSays, as the only team with fewer than 1,700 points.

High Risers: Team DirrtyHarry5, Team crewser128 (+3)

Fast Fallers: Team CommishCasey, General Mills, Team injuredlistpod (-2)

High Score of the Week: Team jpep20 (219.76)
