Week 17 QB Streamer

Tua Tagovailoa One Quick Thought

Here’s my Week 17 QB streamer article. If you want a recap of the idea behind QB streamers, you can check out my first article here. Most leagues are in the finals now. I would assume most teams have their starting QBs figured out. But I will continue putting out these articles in case anyone needs help with finding depth at the position.

Last week, my Week 16 QB streamer was Jimmy Garoppolo who was okay for fantasy with 15.18 fantasy points. He finished the week as QB16 again. It’s been another crazy week for fantasy. Let’s see who my streamer is this week.

Flow Chart

Trey Lance will be a rookie quarterback who will need a good situation to be successful. - Week 17 QB Streamer

This is my first week doing this, but I don’t have a set QB streamer this week. This is largely because of COVID-19 and injuries. I will name three QBs because I am not sure the first two will start:

My first name is Taysom Hill. He has shown he’s a great fantasy quarterback with his rushing upside and ability to be a mostly competent passer. However, with health and safety protocols, his status for this week is uncertain. Carolina may not be the best matchup, but I still trust Taysom Hill over other waiver wire options no matter the matchup.

My second option is Trey Lance. Like Taysom Hill, he has a rushing floor and a great offense to work with. With weapons that offer great YAC ability, that definitely helps with Trey’s passing yardage. He also gets a good matchup against the Houston Texans. The main issue is that his starting status largely depends on whether Jimmy Garoppolo is healthy enough to start or not as he still seems to be holding his spot at the top of the depth chart.

If these options are not available, I’d turn to Tua Tagovailoa. He has been fantastic for fantasy amongst QBs regularly rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues. He also has a pretty good matchup against the Titans.

Wrap-Up

Maybe you drafted a QB later and are worried about your QB’s matchup this week. In that case, these QBs could be one to look at for a Week 17 QB streamer option. Hopefully, you don’t need to stream, but with all the COVID-19 news, I am sure the waiver wire will continue to be busy this week. I hope you get to win your fantasy championship this week!
