Just like a running back hitting a crucial chip on a blitzing linebacker, we’re going to make sure nothing gets by, all so you can make the plays you need to reach fantasy football paydirt. Steelers 17 at Browns 29

Mitchell Trubisky did not throw a touchdown for the first time this season, but did rush for one… After averaging 5.1 yards per pass attempt in both of the first two weeks, Trubisky averaged 6.5 in Week 3… Najee Harris played 79.7 percent of snaps, his highest rate of the season thus far… Harris averaged 3.7 yards per carry, also his best of the young season… Diontae Johnson led Pittsburgh’s wide receivers in snaps, targets, receptions, and yards… George Pickens (seven) saw more targets than Chase Claypool (six) despite playing 10 fewer snaps… The Steelers still do not have a touchdown scored by a wide receiver…

Jacoby Brissett threw two touchdowns for the first time this season… Nick Chubb played 62.5 percent of snaps to 44.4 percent for Kareem Hunt, their largest disparity of the season… Chubb out-touched Hunt overall 23-15, but Hunt had the higher redzone usage, with five carries and a target to Chubb’s three carries… Donovan Peoples-Jones played 87.5 percent of snaps to lead the Browns’ receivers, but saw only three targets to Amari Cooper‘s 11… David Njoku had a career-high nine catches on 10 targets… Njoku’s 23.9 fantasy points were the second-best total of his career… Njoku caught two of three redzone targets…

Not a bad start to a career, Rookie.

Chiefs 17 at Colts 20

Patrick Mahomes threw his first interception since Week 15 of 2021… Jerick McKinnon led Clyde Edwards-Helaire in snaps played 33-25… CEH had seven rushes for zero total yards and a touchdown, but caught all five of his targets for 39 yards… McKinnon had 20 yards rushing on seven attempts… Marquez Valdes-Scantling continued to lead Kansas City’s receivers in snaps, while JuJu Smith-Schuster once again led in targets, receptions, and yards… While no Chiefs’ receiver saw a redzone target in the game, Mecole Hardman has the most redzone looks among the Kansas City receivers with three… Half of Travis Kelce‘s eight targets came in the redzone…

After arguably the worst start of his long career, Matt Ryan completed 73 percent of his passes with two touchdowns and no interceptions… Ryan had a 105.91 passer rating… Nyheim Hines has 17 targets this season… Parris Campbell played 81.7 percent of snaps, second to Michael Pittman among Colts’ receivers… Regardless, Alec Pierce functioned as the Colts’ WR2, seeing five targets to Campbell’s two… Rookie Jelani Woods played just 16 snaps, behind Mo Alie-Cox (42) and Kylen Granson (30), but was the only tight end to see redzone targets… Woods caught both of his redzone looks (out of three total targets) for touchdowns- his first two career receptions…

Texans 20 at Bears 23

Davis Mills threw his first two interceptions of the season… Dameon Pierce paced the Texans’ backfield in snaps and took 20 of the team’s 23 rushing attempts, while also catching both of his targets… Rex Burkhead saw five targets, good for second among all Texans’ players… Brandin Cooks caught just two of seven targets for 22 yards, his lowest output since Week 11 of 2021… Jordan Akins saw four targets in just 17 snaps played and caught the only tight end redzone target for a touchdown…

Justin Fields has just 45 pass attempts through three games and is now 33rd in completion percentage in the league… Fields had 47 rushing yards and has 95 on the season, good for fifth among quarterbacks… David Montgomery suffered a lower leg injury that knocked him from the game… Khalil Herbert had by far the best performance of his young career, with 169 total yards and his first two-touchdown game… Darnell Mooney caught two of six targets playing 93.7 percent of snaps… Mooney has scored only 6.7 fantasy points on the season… Cole Kmet had his first two receptions of the season on three targets…

Raiders 22 at Titans 24

Derek Carr has attempted at least 37 passes and thrown two touchdowns in every game this season… Carr completed fewer than 60 percent of his passes for the second time in three games… After not traveling to Tennessee with the team, Josh Jacobs handled his normal workload as the clear RB1 for Las Vegas, including six targets… With Hunter Renfrow out, Mack Hollins played 97.1 percent of snaps… Hollins saw 10 targets on the day, including four in the redzone… Hollins scored 29.96 fantasy points. His previous career high had been 15.2 Week 11 of 2021… Despite playing 16 fewer snaps than Darren Waller, Foster Moreau matched Waller in targets, receptions, and redzone looks. Moreau (44) had twice as many yards as Waller (22)…

Ryan Tannehill had both a rushing and passing touchdown in a game for the first time since Week 10 of last season… Derrick Henry‘s six targets tied a career high… Henry’s five receptions are the second-most he’s had in a game… Treylon Burks saw just two targets, the fewest he’s seen this season… Geoff Swaim out-snapped Austin Hooper 40-24 and saw the only tight end redzone target (a two-yard touchdown)…

Bills 19 at Dolphins 21

Josh Allen completed 42 of 63 passes, both career highs… Allen threw for 400 yards for the first time since Week 9 of 2020… Devin Singletary played more snaps than the rest of the Bills’ running backs combined and saw a career-high 11 targets… Stefon Diggs saw 11 targets in the game, but Isaiah McKenzie led the team in receiving across the board… Dawson Knox is averaging three catches for fewer than 25 yards on fewer than four targets per game. Knox has not scored and has only one redzone target on the year…

Tua Tagovailoa missed a short period after what the team claims was a complication with his back… The NFLPA commenced an investigation after the game as it appeared Tagovailoa may have actually suffered a concussion… Raheem Mostert led the Dolphins’ running backs in snaps, touches and targets, but Chase Edmonds scored two touchdowns… The Dolphins targeted Trent Sherfield and River Cracraft once each in the redzone, instead of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen WaddleDurham Smythe played more snaps and was targeted more than Mike Gesicki

Lions 24 at Vikings 28

Jared Goff is QB11 after three games… After D’Andre Swift left with an injury, Jamaal Williams saw 20 carries in the game for the first time since his rookie season of 2017… Swift’s injuries (ankle, shoulder) have him questionable for Week 4… Josh Reynolds saw 10 targets for the first time since Week 16 of 2020, leading the Lions…

Dalvin Cook injured his shoulder late in the third quarter and was ruled out of the game. Cook is questionable for Week 4… Alexander Mattison averaged 26 touches and over 21 fantasy points per game starting in place of Cook last season… On a quiet day for Justin Jefferson, fellow wideouts K.J. Osborn and Adam Thielen each had a touchdown on eight targets… Irv Smith, Jr. has only caught 43.8 percent of this targets on the year…

Ravens 37 at Patriots 26

Lamar Jackson‘s 39.42 fantasy points gave him 82.04 over two games… Jackson leads all quarterbacks in rushing yardage… In his first game since 2020, J.K. Dobbins trailed Justice Hill in snaps played, but led Hill in rush attempts, targets, and redzone looks… Devin Duvernay has caught all eight of his targets with three touchdowns this season… Mark Andrews saw 13 targets, the most by a tight end in the league in the season’s first three weeks… Justin Tucker kicked a 56 yard field goal, his longest since a record-setting 66 yard kick against the Lions in Week 3 last season…

Mac Jones suffered a high ankle sprain on the game’s final play that could keep him out for several games… Jones passed for a career-high 321 yards in the game… For the second straight week, Rhamondre Stevenson out-snapped Damien Harris. Stevenson only out-touched Harris 16-13. Both saw multiple redzone carries, with Harris seeing two redzone targets… DeVante Parker (156) had his first 100 yard receiving game since Week 17 of 2020… Parker leads New England receivers in playing time by a wide margin, but is tied for second on the team with 14 targets and only has six receptions on the year… Leading receiver Jakobi Meyers did not play… Jonnu Smith caught all four of his targets, including two in the redzone… Hunter Henry had one reception on one target for eight yards on the day…

Bengals 27 at Jets 12

After tossing four interceptions in the opener, Joe Burrow has now gone two straight games without throwing a pick… Burrow was sacked twice. He was sacked 13 times in the Bengals’ two prior games (both losses)… Joe Mixon left the game in the fourth quarter with ankle soreness that has him limited in practice for Week 4… Samaje Perine led the team in rushing thanks mostly to operating as the garbage-time clock-killer… Ja’Marr Chase had six catches for just 29 yards. The 4.8 yards per catch represented the second-lowest such mark in his career… Chase still led the team with 10 targets… Mitchell Wilcox led Hayden Hurst in snaps for the first time this season…

Joe Flacco had by far his worst start for the Jets this season, with a completion percentage of just 53.8, no touchdowns and two interceptions… Zach Wilson is expected to be cleared for Week 4… For the first time this season, rookie Breece Hall played more snaps than Michael Carter. Carter had 11 rushes to Hall’s eight, but Hall saw 11 targets to just two for Carter… Carter’s targets have declined each week… For the second straight game, Garrett Wilson was a distant third in snaps played at wide receiver, but led New York’s wideouts in targets, receptions, and yards… Tyler Conklin caught all eight of his targets. His 16.4 fantasy points were his most since a career-high 20 point performance in Week 3 last season…

Eagles 24 at Commanders 8

Jalen Hurts threw for three touchdowns for the third time in his career. He those three games, he did not throw an interception… Hurts leads all quarterbacks in rushing attempts and is second in rushing yards… Miles Sanders again was by far the most-utilized running back for the Eagles, playing 53.4 percent of snaps and taking 16 of 21 running back touches… DeVonta Smith led the Eagles’ wide receivers in snaps and set career-highs in targets, receptions, yards, and fantasy points. His 30.9 fantasy points bested back-to-back games of 22.6 points in Weeks 9-10 last season… A.J. Brown led the team in redzone looks and scored his first touchdown as an Eagle…

Carson Wentz is fourth in the league in pass attempts and is still QB6 despite being held in check in Week 3… Wentz did not throw a touchdown after throwing seven total in the first two games… J.D. McKissic saw nine targets in the game to one for Antonio Gibson, but Gibson had 12 carries to just three for McKissic… All three of Washington’s top wide receivers are seeing consistent, high-volume usage. Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, and Curtis Samuel were separated by just four snaps (68, 67, and 64) and two targets (9, 8, and 10)…

Saints 14 at Panthers 22

Jameis Winston had a season-high 353 yards passing, but just one fourth quarter touchdown with two costly interceptions… Alvin Kamara returned to the lineup and to his usual spot atop the backfield usage chart for the Saints, but caught just two of seven targets… Kamara is RB53 after an ADP of RB9 (11th overall)… Chris Olave has had 13 targets in back-to-back games to lead New Orleans… Jarvis Landry, Michael Thomas, and Tre’Quan Smith all left the game with injuries and are questionable for Week 4…

Baker Mayfield somehow is QB20 with a completion percentage of just 51.9… Christian McCaffrey has seen 14 targets, the lowest total of his career for his first three games played in a season… D.J. Moore has played 98.3 percent of his team’s snaps this season, behind only Cooper Kupp (100 percent), but has caught just seven of 18 targets…

Week 3 Blitz Pickup: Sunday Late Games

Tom Terrific had his best fantasy output of the season, despite every Buccaneer receiver in history missing the game.

Packers 14 at Buccaneers 12

Aaron Rodgers is third in the league in completion percentage and 11th in yards per pass attempt among starting quarterbacks… Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon split snaps 39-33 and shared the workload evenly, with each garnering 12 rush attempts and Jones seeing one more target (four)… Allen Lazard has led the team’s wide receivers in snaps in both games he’s played… Romeo Doubs caught all eight of his targets and paced the team in every receiving category… Robert Tonyan tied career highs in targets (seven) and receptions (six)…

Tom Brady is tied for 24th in the league in yards per pass attempt among starting quarterbacks and is QB27 overall… Leonard Fournette is second in the league in percentage of snaps played among running backs and is fourth in rush attempts… Fournette won’t go scoreless all season… Operating as the team’s WR1 with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Julio Jones all missing the game, Russell Gage caught 12 of 13 targets for 87 yards and a score… Cameron Brate caught five of six targets, his best in both categories since Week 5 of 2020…

Jaguars 38 at Chargers 10

Trevor Lawrence tied a career high with three touchdown passes and had the highest fantasy score of his career… James Robinson again led the team in running back snaps and usage, and saw the bulk of the redzone work over Travis EtienneZay Jones set career highs in targets (11) and receptions (10)… Christian Kirk is WR5 on the season after an ADP of WR39 (100th overall)…

Austin Ekeler only attempted 4 rushes, his lowest total since Week 4 of 2020. Ekeler is tied for 26th in carries among running backs but leads all backs with 22 targets… With Keenan Allen missing the game, Josh Palmer led the team in every receiving category, including snaps played… Mike Williams had just one catch for a 15 yard touchdown on six targets… Joey Bosa suffered a groin injury that required surgery and was placed on IR…

Rams 20 at Cardinals 12

Matthew Stafford failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time as quarterback of the Rams… In his last six regular season games, Stafford has thrown 10 touchdowns and 12 interceptions… In 24 snaps each, Cam Akers out-touched Darrell Henderson 12 to 4… Cooper Kupp scored his first career rushing touchdown in 15 career attempts… After recording 11 catches on 20 targets in 14 games his rookie season, Ben Skowronek has 10 catches on 13 targets through three games… Tyler Higbee is tied for third among tight ends in targets and is TE7 despite not scoring a touchdown…

Kyler Murray attempted a career-high 58 passes and is second in the league in pass attempts… James Conner is dealing with a knee injury that has him questionable for Week 4… With Conner seeing limited action in Week 2, Eno Benjamin and Darrel Williams split the remaining running back duties almost 50/50. In Week 3, Benjamin got the clear bulk of the backup work in snaps (22 to 14) and opportunities (five rushes, four targets to just one each for Williams)… Greg Dortch (WR19) has operated as the true number two wide receiver in the absence of DeAndre Hopkins and Rondale Moore, and is tied for 10th in receptions among wideouts… Zach Ertz is second in tight end targets and third in total snaps played… Ertz is second in targets on the Cardinals, behind only leading receiver Marquise Brown

Falcons 27 at Seahawks 23

Marcus Mariota is fourth in quarterback rushing attempts and tied for second in quarterback rushing touchdowns… After not playing in Week 1, Tyler Allgeier has played 33.9 percent of snaps in the last two games, compared to 60.2 percent for Cordarrelle Patterson… The rush share is a virtual mirror of the snap count, with Patterson taking 60 percent of rushes and Allgeier 35.6 percent in the same timeframe… Bryan Edwards and Damiere Byrd were inactive… Of the five receivers who were active, only Drake London (six) and Olamide Zaccheaus (two) saw targets… Kyle Pitts led the team in targets for the second time in two games…

Kenneth Walker III had three rush attempts and three targets in only nine snaps played… 28 running backs have averaged over 35 snaps per game. Rashaad Penny is last among them in fantasy points per snap… Tyler Lockett saw 11 targets for the second straight week and is catching over 80 percent of his targets this season… D.K. Metcalf saw five redzone targets in the game… Will Dissly played more snaps than Noah Fant. Two of Dissly’s three targets were redzone looks, including a touchdown catch… Dissly is TE11 on the season despite seeing only eight targets total…

49ers 10 at Broncos 11

Jimmy Garoppolo has completed 62 percent of his passes and averaged 7.3 yards per attempt… Trey Lance had a completion percentage of 48.4 and averaged 6.3 yards per attempt… Jeff Wilson averaged 6.2 yards per carry on 12 rushing attempts… Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel each had eight targets, a season-high for each… George Kittle caught four of five targets in his first game action this season…

Russell Wilson averaged just 5.6 yards per pass attempt… Javonte Williams out-snapped Melvin Gordon 33 to 28 but had just one more touch in the game… Gordon saw the only two redzone opportunities in the game… Gordon fumbled twice… I don’t get it, either… Courtland Sutton is averaging 10.4 yards per target, good for fifth among receivers who have seen at least 20 targets thus far… Albert Okwuegbunam had just one catch on two targets, and is just 6 for 10 without a touchdown on the season…

Cowboys 23 at Giants 16

Cooper Rush has completed 62.7 percent of passes, but with only two touchdowns playing in place of injured Dak Prescott… Prescott could be cleared to play as soon as Week 5… Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard split snaps 41-28, and split touches 16-13… CeeDee Lamb saw 12 targets, his third straight game of at least 11 targets. He is tied for the second-most targets among wide receivers… Noah Brown is WR24 as the WR2 on the team… Michael Gallup has returned to practice and could return to the field in Week 4… With Dalton Schultz out, Peyton Hendershot and Jake Ferguson each saw three targets…

Daniel Jones had nine rushes for 79 yards and is third in the league in quarterback rushing yardage… Saquon Barkley (14 rush attempts) averaged 5.8 yards per carry and 11.3 yards per reception on four catches… Leading receiver Sterling Shepard was lost for the season with a knee injury on the Giants’ final offensive play… Disgruntled receiver Kenny Golladay was catchless on three targets, including a drive-killing drop in the fourth quarter with the Giants down by seven points… Golladay has the largest 2022 cap hit of any receiver in the league… Rookie tight end Daniel Bellinger caught four of five targets…
