Week 8 ugh. Injuries are apart of the game and we here at Belly Up are here to navigate you through the muddy waters. Make sure to follow us on Twitter @BellyUp Fantasy for all the latest updates, injury news, articles and so much more.
Seattle Seahawks
Chris Carson has a mid-foot sprain. Carlos Hyde (Hamstring) and Travis Homer (Knee) are also both banged up also and are questionable. Hyde is the lead back if does make the start, but also keep rookie DeeJay Dallas in mind also. Week 8 doesn’t bode a good matchup against San Francisco, but volume alone could give you a solid floor in deeper formats.
San Francisco 49ers
Mostert is out for a few weeks yet with his high ankle sprain, Tevin Coleman is still on IR, and now Jeff Wilson (Ankle) after his huge performance is also now on IR. JaMycal Hasty and Jerick McKinnon are now the 1-2 punch in San Fran. Kyle Shannon always has a plan to feature one main back and I would put my money on McKinnon this week.
Arizona Cardinals
Kenyan Drake has a slight tear ligament in his ankle. Chase Edmonds is now the back to own in Arizona. This is a bye week, so if someone in your league is snoozing because of the bye; go pick up Edmonds if availible. I look for Chase to run away with the job much like Drake did last year in Arizona.
Green Bay Packers
Aaron Jones should be good to go this week after his calf strain. Jamaal Williams is back to being relegated as the handcuff.
Minnesota Vikings
We should expect to Dalvin Cook back in the lineup this week.
Philadelphia Eagles
Miles Sanders (Knee) is questionable still. Boston Scott is the starting option if Sanders is out in a great matchup against the lowly Dallas Cowboys offense. Zach Ertz is on IR and is out at the very least the next two games. Dallas Goedert came off of IR on Tuesday but is hopeful to play after the Week 9 bye. Richard Rodgers is definitely a plug and play start this week.
New York Giants
Devonta Freeman has an ankle injury and my expectation is that Wayne Gallman gets the start this week for New York. Gallman looked good last week against a tough Eagles defense roll him out at flex if need be against Tampa.
Carolina Panthers
Christian McCaffrey did suit up for practice yesterday which is a good sign for his availability Thursday. If he does suit up my expectation is that he is a low-end RB1 in his first week of action since Week 2. Panthers could give him rest in this game if they are up early and also Mike Davis should still be factored in to an extent.
Baltimore Ravens
Mark Ingram has a mid- to high-ankle sprain and he did have the bye week to rest up. Next man up is Gus Edwards in a tough matchup against Pittsburgh. I am fading Baltimore running backs for the time being.
Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Mixon is considered day-to-day. if he doesn’t go again this week role out Giovani Bernard as a steady RB2/Flex option again.
Denver Broncos
Phillip Lindsay has a concussion and is uncertain for Week 8. Look for Melvin Gordon to soak up more volume this week.
LA Rams
Tyler Higbee did miss the game against Chicago on Monday, but I would expect him to be back this week. Gerald Everett can safely be dropped in all formats.
Cleveland Browns
Austin Hooper continues to recover from his appendix. Roll out David Njoku until further notice with confidence.
