Why Breece Hall is Already a Top 6 RB in Dynasty

Two months ago, people were trash-talking this 2022 draft class. To be fair, it’s not that different now, but one major thing has changed. There’s a clear 1.01. Two months ago, people were saying that anyone with the 1.01 should trade back because there was no clear standout and that the draft was more about depth because there were no studs. Things have since changed as Breece Hall has emerged as the 1.01, even in Superflex formats (though Malik Willis is ascending there). But not only has he emerged as the top pick in this rookie draft, but he has also even drastically ascended overall rankings to now be one of the top RBs and is often taken in the 2nd or 3rd round of startup drafts. This article will explain why Breece Hall is already a top 6 RB in dynasty.

To be clear, I understand many people will value him differently, but his current valuation has him ranked top 6. Keep Trade Cut, a supposedly crowd-sourced ranking system has him ranked as the RB5. The main RBs I see regularly ranked ahead of him are Jonathan Taylor, Najee Harris, Javonte Williams, D’Andre Swift, and Christian McCaffrey. From what I’ve seen, most people would prefer the 1.01 in this year’s rookie draft over all the other RBs.

What That Means

People may think it’s still a gamble to value Breece Hall this highly, but RBs with this type of BMI, speed, dominator ranking, target share, and draft capital (admittedly still to be determined though) rarely miss unless they get injured.

The Competition

The reason Breece Hall is ranked so highly is not just about how good he should be, but also how weak his competition is from a historical standpoint. If he came out 3 years ago, he wouldn’t be ranked this highly, but the best redraft RBs like McCaffrey, Henry, Cook, Kamara, Elliott, Jones, Fournette, Conner, Ekeler, Mixon, and Chubb will be 26 years of age or older this upcoming season. 26 has historically been the age where RBs peak, meaning the chances are high these RBs are in their decline or will be soon.

Wrap-Up

You don’t have to value Breece Hall this highly. I just wanted to explain why many do. Hopefully, you didn’t sell your 1.01 when people were telling everyone else to as it has risen drastically in value. We still need to wait for his draft capital and landing spot, but I have made sure that I can draft him in every one of my leagues if I want to. I hope this helps you to understand why Breece Hall is already a top 6 RB in dynasty.
