The Philadelphia Eagles are sitting pretty at the 10th draft pick, which is why the Eagles need to draft Bijan Robinson before any other team gets to him. The Eagles have the luxury to make their offense extremely potent for the 2023 season.

Eagles Draft History
History shows that Howie Roseman, the Philadelphia Eagles General Manager, loves to draft offensive and defensive linemen in the first round. Over the past 20 years, Howie Roseman has drafted eight defensive linemen and four offensive linemen in the first round. They have drafted zero running backs. That needs to change for the 2023 draft on April 27th.
The Eagles Still Need an RB1
After losing Miles Sanders in free agency, they picked up Rashaad Penny, re-signed Boston Scott, and continue to have Kenny Gainwell on his rookie deal. None of these options can fill the shoes of Miles Sanders, which, let’s be honest, isn’t that hard.
Bijan Robinson would blow the roof off his rookie year in Philadelphia. Especially behind the number one-ranked offensive line they have. During his final year at the University of Texas, Bijan rushed for 1,580 yards and scored 18 touchdowns while averaging 6.1 yards per carry. His athleticism helped him dance around defenders, which made him the first running back in the PFF era to force 100+ missed tackles.

The Combination of Bijan Robinson and Jalen Hurts
Pairing the number one running back out of the draft with MVP runner-up Jalen Hurts would be a lethal offense. What defense would be able to stop an offense that includes these two, plus Devonta Smith, A.J. Brown, and Dallas Goedert?
The Eagles love to operate in a run-pass option offense. Meaning Jalen Hurts is either going to hand it off to Bijan or take it for himself or pass it to one of the receivers listed above. There isn’t any defense in today’s NFL that could 100 percent prepare for this type of playstyle. Let’s not forget that Bijan also has receiving upside, totaling 805 yards and 8 touchdowns during his career at Texas.

Zig, When Everyone Zags
Sure, it may not be the smart decision to draft a running back as a top 10 pick in the NFL draft. But that’s usually the instance when a player like Bijan Robinson isn’t a part of the draft class. Over the past 10 years, just five running backs have been selected in the top 10 picks. Those names include Saquon Barkley, Leonard Fournette, Ezekiel Elliott, Christian McCaffrey, and Todd Gurley. A lot of mock drafts have the Eagles being able to select Defensive Tackle Jalen Carter at the 10th pick. This would certainly fill the holes from the players they lost in free agency, but he comes with a lot of off-the-field issues. The Eagles’ defensive line is still pretty stacked, as well as their secondary thanks to Howie keeping Darius Slay and James Bradberry on the team.
The answer to another super bowl appearance, and even a super bowl victory, is drafting a perennial running back like Bijan Robinson. The Eagles NEED to draft Bijan Robinson if they want to create the most powerful offense in the league.
