Winning the Wire: Weekly Must-Adds w/ TheCiege!

Welcome to this week’s electrifying edition of Winning the Wire: Weekly Must-Adds w/ TheCiege! Your ultimate guide to dominating the waiver wire! Whether you’re playing in a redraft or dynasty league, staying ahead of the competition means nailing those key pickups before your opponents even blink. That’s where I come in. Each week, I’ll be breaking down the top waiver adds to help you bulk up your roster, snag those clutch wins, and pave your path to fantasy glory.

Brought to you by BellyUp Fantasy Sports, this weekly breakdown ensures you’re ready to snatch up every hidden gem the waiver wire has to offer. Let’s get right into it with this week’s must-adds:

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – SEPTEMBER 10: Tank Bigsby #4 of the Jacksonville Jaguars celebrates after a touchdown in the fourth quarter of a game against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium on September 10, 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana. (Photo by Michael Hickey/Getty Images)
  1. RB Tank Bigsby, Jacksonville Jaguars
If you tuned in to the Ciege & Destroy Livestream last Tuesday with TJsumpter and me, you’d know we’re both higher on Bigsby than Etienne. It’s not just about talent, but how well Bigsby fits in this offense. He showed us what he’s capable of this week, putting up a monster 101 rushing yards and snagging a 28-yard TD catch. Bigsby completely outperformed Etienne, making him an absolute priority this week in both redraft and dynasty leagues. The best part? He’s only rostered in 31% of Sleeper leagues, so he’s likely available. Don’t sleep on him!
ATLANTA, GEORGIA – OCTOBER 03: Darnell Mooney #1 of the Atlanta Falcons celebrates after scoring a 12 yard touchdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the fourth quarter at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on October 03, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)
  1. WR Darnell Mooney, Atlanta Falcons
Mooney’s had a rollercoaster of a career, starting with the Bears before posting some pedestrian numbers—except for his breakout 2021 season where he notched 81 receptions and over 1,000 yards. Fast forward to 2024, and Mooney is quietly putting together an impressive season with 24 catches, 330 yards, and 3 TDs through 5 games. He’s rostered in 68% of leagues, but if he’s somehow available in yours, grab him now before he makes an even bigger splash.
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – OCTOBER 15: Brenton Strange #85 of the Jacksonville Jaguars reacts to a touchdown during the third quarter against the Indianapolis Colts at EverBank Stadium on October 15, 2023 in Jacksonville, Florida. (Photo by Mike Carlson/Getty Images)
  1. TE Brenton Strange, Jacksonville Jaguars
Yes, I’m doubling down on another Jaguars player this week. While their offense isn’t fully clicking just yet, Strange has earned Lawrence’s trust. Though his 4 targets for 24 yards may not seem flashy, he found the end zone, racking up 12.4 points. With tight ends underperforming league-wide, Strange is a sneaky add at TE3, especially with him being rostered in just 11% of leagues. Grab him before someone else does!
HOUSTON, TEXAS – OCTOBER 06: Cam Akers #22 of the Houston Texans scores a touchdown during the first quarter against the Buffalo Bills at NRG Stadium on October 06, 2024 in Houston, Texas. (Photo by Tim Warner/Getty Images)
  1. RB Cam Akers, Houston Texans
I know what you’re thinking—Cam Akers? Seriously? Hear me out. With Joe Mixon still sidelined and no clear return in sight, Dare Ogunbowale may be the lead back, but Akers is getting his touches. After a messy exit from the Rams (hey, the Rams have breakup issues with RBs—just ask Todd Gurley!), Akers is looking to make an impact with the Texans. If you’re thin at RB and Mixon remains out, Akers, rostered in 48% of leagues, could provide some sneaky value.
PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA – OCTOBER 7: Jalen Tolbert #1 of the Dallas Cowboys celebrates his touchdown in front of DeShon Elliott #25 of the Pittsburgh Steelers during the fourth quarter at Acrisure Stadium on October 7, 2024 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dallas won the game 20-17. (Photo by Joe Sargent/Getty Images)
  1. WR Jalen Tolbert, Dallas Cowboys
Tolbert’s season has been a mixed bag, but last night’s game was his best yet. He racked up 7 catches for 87 yards and secured the game-winning TD. With Cook on IR, Tolbert’s role has expanded from WR3 to WR2, and he’s poised to see more targets moving forward. Even though the Cowboys are on a bye in Week 7, Tolbert is only rostered in 17% of leagues. He’s worth the add for anyone in need of WR help.

That wraps up this week’s Winning the Wire: Weekly Must-Adds w/ TheCiege! Make those moves, hit the waiver wire hard, and set your roster up for a winning week. Stay tuned for more insights next week—let’s win this wire! Follow me on X @TheCiege!!
