2023 Rookie Rankings

Let’s just get to the point. Here’s a brief article on my current 2023 rookie rankings after day two of the NFL draft for Superflex leagues. I’ll just go through my first round.

Tier 1

1. Bijan Robinson – Atlanta Falcons

2. Anthony Richardson – Indianapolis Colts

3. Bryce Young – Carolina Panthers

Here we have a generational RB who was taken top-ten, an athletic QB in a great organization whose ceiling is the roof, and the number one overall pick with a team who’s trying to set him up for success. I’d be psyched to leave the draft with any of these three.

ABC7

Tier 2

4. C.J. Stroud – Houston Texans

5. Jahmyr Gibbs – Detroit Lions

6. Jaxon Smith-Njigba – Seattle Seahawks

A great passer on a questionable organization, a highly-drafted RB in a crowded room, and an elite WR prospect with tough target competition. These three have more questions than the top-tier players, but they should all still have a good floor and ceiling.

Tier 3

7. Jordan Addison – Minnesota Vikings

8. Quentin Johnston – Los Angeles Chargers

This pair of WRs were considered #2 and #3 and I still see them that way. One should have a lot of targets but won’t lead the team while the other could eventually lead the WR room but is likely to play third fiddle this season.

Tier 4

9. Will Levis – Tenessee Titans

10. Zay Flowers – Baltimore Ravens

11. Zach Charbonnet – Seattle Seahawks

12. Devon Achane – Miami Dolphins

There are lots of questions here. Levis might have to fight to be a starter, Flowers may not have much volume, Charbonnet may not be the best RB on the team, and Achane is an undersized back in a crowded backfield. Another option is that Rashee Rice could be an interesting shot too since he landed with Patrick Mahomes. Dalton Kincaid in Buffalo can also be in play if you play with a strong TEP or in a 2 TE league.

Wrap-Up

I know the analysis is much shallower than what I usually produce, but I just wanted to give you a quick snapshot of my 2023 rookie rankings through three rounds. I’d definitely want a top 3 pick or a top 6 pick with this class.
